About this ebook

This book is about the authors experience on the altar of prayer. It is a spiritually empowering and life-changing book that explains how to approach God in prayers yourself. It touches on the nitty-gritty of rewriting your destiny without anyones assistance. It emphasizes the fact that only you are in the best position to explain yourself to God. The main thesis of the book is that the power of answered prayers is not contingent upon any special anointing outside you. It hypothesizes that power to change your situation is not an exclusive right of any spiritual leader somewhere, and that it is a right you must claim by faith. The book also highlights various tested biblical and acceptable concepts of talking to God for an answer through your own prayers. Most importantly, it elucidates on how you can reach God through effective and fervent prayers for a fulfilled life style and destiny maximization.

Paul Adu

Rev. Paul Adu is the senior pastor and founder of Potter and Clay Miracle Ministries London, where prayers are offered to God on a daily basis. He is a seasoned speaker and a prolific writer. He captures the mind of his audience by elucidating the Word of God in such a simplistic manner that makes everyone, irrespective of backgrounds, to understand. Rev. Paul Adu takes out quality time on a daily basis to minister and encourage folks who need God’s intervention as well as pray with them. His ministrations are trailed with signs and wonders with wonderful testimonies of healing and deliverance from satanic bondage. Rev. Paul Adu, among other qualifications, holds a bachelor’s degree in health from Greenwich University–London. He and his beautiful wife, Elizabeth Adu, reside in the UK with their children.

    Foreword

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh From the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2.

T he passage above effectively captures the ramifications of Rev. Paul Adu’s sublime exposition in this book " When the Tears of Prayer Fall Down". What Rev. Adu seems to be saying in this book is that it is the help of God that must be proclaimed by any individual going through turbulence. One distinct attribute of God is that He is so jealous that He does not like to share His glory with anyone. Come to think of it; who dares try to share glory with I AM THAT I AM, the present help in time of trouble?

The mistake that has been consistently made in the Christendom is to put our help in mere men because of their apparently great titles like archbishop, bishop, apostle, pastor, reverend. Some men of God have also exploited this gullibility by decorating themselves with several titles, knowing full well that Christians of today run to men of God with titles instead of running to the God of man who carries the greatest title of El Shaddai, the Strong and the Breasted One, the Almighty God. What do you think of the title The Most Senior and the Most Revered Apostle, Prophet and Evangelist for only one man? It is a deceptive facade intended to bamboozle unsuspecting Christians who want help at all cost, not minding the curse coming from such overdependence on man. In Jeremiah 17:5, God released a prophetic utterance that should dissuade anyone from putting a false trust in a fellow human being. It is this: Thus saith the LORD, Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. If you are in that category, Rev. Adu is asking you, through this well-packaged 14-chapter book, to have a rethink and mend your ways.

The question may be asked: If I am not supposed to put my trust in men and women of God, who pray for me, counsel and guide me, does that mean that I have nothing to do with them? You actually have a stake with your pastor. The Bible specifies what the relationship between you and your pastor should be in Jeremiah 3:15: And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. You need to submit to your pastor to feed you with knowledge and understanding of the Word of God. What Rev. Adu is bringing across to you in this book is that, once you are married to the Word of God and you have sufficient understanding to use it in diverse situations, then, the devil is in trouble. In fact, it is the Word of God that heals and sets people free from destruction (Psalm 107:20) and not the pastor or bishop. The men and women of God are mere facilitators who are set apart and consecrated to prepare you in the ways of God to follow so that if you decree a thing, it can be established unto you (Job 22:28).

Rev. Adu is challenging you in this book to put absolute trust, belief and faith in God. He has also provided enough principles that you can build upon to sustain you in your Christian journey. I commend these principles to you for use in your daily life. I wish you pleasant reading.

    Pastor. Bode Babatunde.

    Acknowledgements

F irst and foremost, I will like to acknowledge and appreciate the owner of my life, the Almighty God, for giving me the gift of breath and life. He has counted me worthy to be among the living and has given me the grace to be born again. I also thank Him for giving me good health and the opportunity and inspiration to write this book from the beginning to the end.

In addition, I will like to convey my gratitude to all those who have devoted time, knowledge and spiritual sagacity to support me in writing this book.

My special thanks go to Mrs. Florence Kaetu-Smith Enaboifo who robustly motivated me before writing the first word on this book. I appreciate her constant reminder of starting this book as well as her ecclesiastical motivation.

My thoughtful thankfulness also goes to all members and attendees of the Early Morning Encounter with Jesus prayer meeting at Potter and Clay Miracle Ministries, London. Their relentless day-to-day seasoned prayers and numerous testimonies on the PCMM’s prayer ground have stirred me into writing this book on prayers. I appreciate their demonstration that God is still in the business of hearing prayers. I implore them to continue in the attitude of fervent prayer so as to receive the reward of people who faint not.

I will not forget to acknowledge the support of my lovely and supportive wife, Elizabeth Adu, whose spiritual and matrimonial encouragement is unquantifiable and beneficially benevolent. In addition, I shall not fail to thank my children: Ephraim, Faith and Johanna, for their love and understanding. Again, I shall not fail to recognise the support of my dear sister, Dupe Adu, and all my siblings who share biological bond and love with me. God bless you all.

    Preface

Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.

    Psalm 5:2

T here is unarguably a common belief among contemporary believers that only ministers of God – bishops, reverends, pastors, intercessors and the like – are vested with the authority to pray and perform miracles, signs and wonders. For this reason, believers do not know why and how to pray for themselves. Christians are led to pray vigorously during prayer meetings but paradoxically, a form of spurious indoctrination to keep people perpetually dependent on the clergy or prophet for prayers is introduced during sermons. This is with a view to arrogating to the clergy or prophet perfidious `self anointing`. Indeed, this offbeat practice has created lazy and gullible followers. Jesus said men ought to pray and not faint. This implies that prayer is not an option; it is meant for everybody and not for some special anointed persons.

The power of prayer has been so downgraded and underplayed that it is considered to be at par with human ideology, philosophy, intellectualism and commercialism by religious spongers, whose intention is to keep innocent people in perpetual spiritual repression. The general purpose of this is to create followers who cannot understand the Word of God but who will continuously depend on spiritual spongers for prayers and directions. For anyone in this category, the good news is that God has not specifically endowed one person to pray for another. Conversely, He hears all people and wants His people to call on Him through their humble prayers so that He can hear and heal them. The Bible actually says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV):

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The position of a prayer intermediary has been destroyed over two thousand years ago when Jesus Christ died. So, there is no need for someone to pray for another. Jesus Christ has offered himself as a ransom for us and He intercedes for us on a daily basis. Look at what
