About this ebook
David Burkey
Dave has been writing stories since college. It started out with extra long term papers (the first 3 stories in the book) and then branched out from there. Dave is now working on several other novel length stories, which are at various stages of being completed. Hopefully he will be able to publish them as well. In addition to writing, he has a Graphic Design business, and is a Journeyman Electrician looking for a career in Renewable Energy. Joy is a mom. She wrote her stories for fun for our children to read. She never intended them to be published, but Dave talked her into it. Dave and Joy have four beautiful daughters and live in Seattle. Dave has been writing poems and songs since he was in 4th grade. He grew up in Southern California. He wrote the most in high school and college. His inspiration at that time was of course GIRLS!! He served a mission for his church where he started writing religious songs and poems. Joy grew up in Washington State and started writing in 5th grade. Her inspiration for most of her poems are her four beautiful daughters. Dave and Joy also write short stories. They will be publishing a book of stories in the future.

PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TELLING ME WHAT TO DO
I WAS CAUGHT UP IN A WEB OF FRUSTRATION
THAT I COULDN’T BREAK THROUGH
TOO MANY RULES TO FOLLOW
TO MANY RULES TO BREAK
AND NO ONE THAT I WENT TO
COULD STOP THE HEARTACHE
I NEEDED SOME ONE TO HOLD
THERE WAS NO ONE TO HOLD NE
I WAS CRYING OUT FOR LOVE
BUT NO ONE COULD HEAR ME
MY ARMS WERE EMPTY
MY HEART WAS ALONE
I FELT LIKE A SCARED CHILD
WITH OUT A HOME
SO I PUT UP A WALL
I DIDN’T LET ANYONE THROUGH
I WAS PISSED AT THE WORLD
AND I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO
BUT NOW I NEED TO GET OUT
I NEED TO SHOUT
GET OUT ALL MY ANGER
I’M GONNA GET OUT
SO AND I’M GONNA TRY
I’M GONNA TRY, TO FIND OUT
WHAT I GOTTA DO
WHAT I GOTTA DO TO BREAK DOWN
TO BREAK DOWN THIS WALL
THAT I’VE BUILT SO HIGH AND SO STRONG
THAT I’VE BEEN TRAPPED BEHIND
TRAPPED BEHIND FOR SO LONG
I’M GONNA GET OUT
I’M GONNA TEAR DOWN THIS WALL
I’LL FINNALLY BE FREE
I’VE WAITED SO LONG
I’LL DO ANY THING
TO TEAR DOWN THIS WALL
I’LL FINALLY BE FREE
I’VE WAITED SO LONG

5511.jpgAre We Alone?
5516.jpgHere we are on this planet
Out here in space
Haven’t yet found life on other planets
There’s not even a trace
There’s no one in communication with us
As far as we know
So can any one tell me
Are we alone?
Many people have said they have seen space ships and aliens
But do we really believe
That there are visitors from space?
In the tabloids we read
Or is this all a hoax
To occupy our minds
Would anyone out there be interested in us
Or would they waste their time?
Are we alone?
In the universe?
Are we alone?
Is there any one else out there?
Are we alone?
Why don’t we know?
Are we alone?
Can any one tell me?
Are we alone?
We have thousands of satellites
Orbiting the earth
And they are contacting no one
Are they even of worth?
We have sent Voyagers’
To go and explore space
Haven’t come up with any new life forms.
So I will ask you…
Are we alone?
In the universe?
Are we alone?
Is there any one else out there?
Are we alone?
Why don’t we know?
Are we alone?
Can any one tell me?
Are we alone?

Back To You
5520.jpgI LOOK OUT THE WINDOW
AT THE STARS IN THE SKY
I THINK OF YOU
WITH A TEAR IN MY EYE
I WANT YOU TO BE BY MY SIDE
I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU
THE FEELINGS I HIDE
THE SONGS THAT I WRITE
EXPRESS HOW I FEEL
THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW
THESE SONGS ARE REAL
THIS SONG’S FOR YOU
THIS SONG’S FOR YOU
(CHORUS)
LIKE CLIMBING A MOUNTAIN OF EMOTION
I COME BACK TO YOU
LIKE CLIMBING A MOUNTAIN OF EMOTION
I COME BACK TO YOU
I DON’T KNOW WHY
I JUST CAN’T EXPLAIN
BUT I COME BACK TO YOU
AGAIN AND AGAIN
I LOOK OUT THE WINDOW
AT THE MOON SHINING BRIGHT
I THINK OF HOW IT USED TO BE
WHEN WE HELD EACH OTHER TIGHT
I THOUGHT I WAS OVER YOU
BUT THAT WAS A LIE
NOW I FIND OUT
I’M STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU
LET’S GIVE IT ONE MORE TRY
(REPEAT CHORUS)
