DEDICATION

For His Purpose
I have to write poems for these days
or else I feel I’ve failed to praise
my Lord who helps me find His ways
for never do I find despair
for I know I am in His care
and every cross that I must bear
I never think the load too great
I know He shares the heavy weight
while teaching me to consecrate
my prayers for purposes defined
that those who read these humble lines
find soul renewing of the mind.
My Praise
Psalms 78:1-8
I open my soul in parables
I utter dark sayings of old
though to none else comparable
and all the sages scold
I must speak as I am told.
For God is my souls salvation
I have learned this in His word
that I am a new creation
and if some be disturbed
it is better at least they’ve heard.
I cannot such love be concealing
that God sent His beloved Son
and His word and life keep revealing
through wonderful works He has done
how we too shall overcome.
My small praise I shall keep raising
to my precious Lord and King
and if we ever stop praising
and love’s tributes fail to bring,
then these very stones shall sing.
I offer this small celebration
for God’s love I could never hide
from my children’s generation
for our praise cannot be denied
when all our lives
God still provides.
A Closer Walk
I have walked the lonely shadows
of disillusionment and pain
far beyond our earthly measures
but looking back I then found treasures
from enduring each harsh strain
a closer walk with Christ was gained.
He held me up when I kept falling
lest my soul I would destroy
and when it got my soul’s attention
He let me go trough fires affliction
to burn the dross and the alloy
and give me His fullness of joy.
I go though pains or joy believing
by keeping true God knows my claim,
it matters not my wealth achieving
knowing soon I shall be receiving
His well done,
my life long aim
and crown of glory with my name.
He helped me change my behavior
and taught me love and to forgive,
Oh my wondrous forgiving Saviour
who through His own loving favor
gave me a purpose then to live
through giving all that I can give.
A dream poem
Dare He ever take this from us
I, an enhancer of His trust
in dwelt by the sacred promise
as He obeys I surely must.
Now am I in faiths own measure
more am I his chosen treasure
grateful for the promise given
more assuredly I of Heaven.
A dream song
(I sang with great gusto the last verse,
line for line and when I awakened
I immediately wrote it down
line for line word for word.)
Though troubles will come
obscuring the sun
I know God cares for me,
His love has endured
keeping me assured
His mercy I still shall see.
Though I may grow weary
through woes dark and dreary
and though my heart may bleed,
He is my bright light
and song in the night
giving all strength that I need.
When my life is ended
there’s a highway splendid
leading to this reward
I’ve long been waiting
and anticipating
beholding my precious Lord.
Now I shall rejoice
when the world bursts off course
and everything goes wrong,
I’ll still praise the Lord
through the dark rushing void
with my exalting and praising song.
A Good Name
Shake off the rudiment of the world
before they have a beginning,
turn around, stand true, and then in turn
you will be set for winning.
Set for your standard goals that are real
not dreams that seem vainglorious,
if in the end a good name you achieve
you are the one victorious.
A Hallowed Place
When hope is gone hold on to faith
although each dream there fails,
remember there is always grace
that in the end prevails
for sorrows are a Hallowed place
no matter sorrow’s gales
and faith made stronger can be traced
through life’s harshest travails.
So hold the Spirit when you’re low
when sorrows are released,
as more the angry winds will blow
and hope seems at its least
for God is watching trials below
and chooses when they cease
then watch our Saviour here bestow
rare blessings of His peace.
A Happy Heart
I know not a dismal season
that can not be rearranged,
not by pastor, doctor, deacon
but I know one well known reason
since the Lord my heart has changed.
No thing is so devastating
but the Lord will see us through
but He kindly is awaiting
without pretense nor debating
for what we want Him to do.
He is not in Heaven’s seclusion
but just where faith has to start,
I have come to this conclusion
I think he dares sin’s intrusion
into such a happy heart.
A Lesson learned
Oh Lord you’ve shared through all my strife
of Your abounding love
when I no longer loved my life
so full of push and shove,
You still with blessings there more rife
being humble as a dove
showed me instead of loving life
to be a mother and good wife
and just live the life of love.
A Prayer
Not for the trophies of this world I pray
but dear Lord give me strength just for today
that I may do all I’m suppose to do
and above all else
