    I kneel before you Father
    Humble as a child,
    This day may bring me challenges
    I just need to talk awhile.

    You always reassure me
    When I come to you in prayer,
    That your grace is sufficient
    Through the trials in life I bear.

    But first, I want to thank you
    For your goodness, love and grace,
    Knowing that through you, my Lord
    Im protected in all I face.

    In this quiet moment
    As I open my soul to thee,
    I feel your love and inner peace
    That youll do whats best for me.


    Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed;
    I am your God. I will strengthen you,
    and help you, and uphold you with my
    right hand of justice.

    Sights Of Nature


    The beauty of the country
    The echo through the hills,
    The different sounds of nature
    Wild flowers blooming in the fields.
    Running, catching butterflies
    Wading bare foot in a stream,
    The sun is shining through the trees
    Casting shadows from its beam.
    How beautiful the country
    How marvelous is our God,
    The magnificence of your creation
    For this we thank you God!

    I was born September 5, 1927 in Hitchins, Kentucky to Norman and Lottie Goodpaster Jackson, five minutes after my twin brother Lacy. My husband James and I have two daughters, seven grand children and three great-grand children. Family is dear to my heart and is a theme in many of my poems. I began writing poems after the death of my husband, and found inspiration in scripture, family, and all of God’s creation. I thank God for the opportunity to tell of His greatness and to share my poetry with others.
