The Beginning
So we have all heard of the Bermuda Triangle and the stories about it that say that anything that crashes there disappears, but before there was the Bermuda Triangle, there was something much worse. There was an island with similar ways, but the difference was that there was something much worse. And for a man Marv, who was a magician, would soon be visit and island that would because something worse.
He was a great magician and had been performing magic for five years. Marv did performances at birthday parties, and at times he would even perform part-time at circuses. Unfortunately, today was his last performing because when he was at the birthday party doing magic, he got caught talking to the kids about black magic.
Hey, kids, do you want to know about black magic?
Marv said.
Black magic?
the kids said.
Yes, black magic. Here, let me show you some,
Marv said.
Just then one of the parents, who was hosting the party, walked in and told the magician to leave right away. He tried to explain that it was harmless and that nobody would get hurt. The mom did not care; she wanted him to leave, so he did. As he left, he couldn’t believe what he had done; he had crossed the line trying to explain what black magic is. I cannot believe I did that. They were just kids. Even though I told the mom that no one would have gotten hurt, that was a lie because someone probably could’ve gotten hurt, he thought to himself.
Marv was so mad at himself that he decided that he was going to leave and go somewhere where he wouldn’t have to be bothered and where he could perform any kind of magic he wanted to, even black magic. So he went back home and packed, then got on in his plane and flew to a tropical island for a vacation. After about two hours of flying, he found the island. He landed the plane and got out and headed up to a cabin that he saw. As he was unpacking his stuff, he heard people out on the island making a lot of noise and partying. He tried to ignore it, but after a while, it became very disturbing and annoying. So he went outside the cabin.
Hey, e-e-everyone?
Marv said in a scared and hesitant voice because when he came out, there was no one there. He was confused for just a second, then went back in the cabin and started to work on his magic. Once he went a back in, he heard the noise of people partying again. Marv, the magician, went back outside again, and once he did, the same thing happened—no one was there. Where could this be coming from? he wondered. Once again he walked back into the cabin, and just like that, the noise was back.
what the hell is going on?
Marv shouted. That was when he pulled out a magical item along with a book that contained black magic spells. He opened the door and held up the magical item in the air and started chanting strange words. After a couple of minutes, the item shot out a green beam across the entire island. Then he stepped farther out and announced that he had just placed a curse on the entire island and everyone who was on the island. Marv then went back inside and said, That takes care of that.
Just then he realized he also cursed himself, and as he was thinking about that, something brushed against him. What was that?
he said. Marv then heard a voice, but he was unable to make out what it was saying. Marv ignored it for now, but then it happened again. He decided to look into it, but the only thing he had was his book of dark magic, and he knew that it would not have anything in it, but he looked anyway. He discovered that when he used the item to make the curse on the island and everyone on it, it made everyone disappear, and not only that, but they had also become the unknown spirits of the island.
Since the curse was made and the people had disappeared and became the spirits that did not want to leave the island, he thought it would be time to give the island a name. It needed to be a good name, a name that struck fear into people, a name that would make you think twice before coming out to the island. I got it,
Marv said. He then made a sign
