About this ebook

In 2008, President Barack Obama gave a speech in Chicago, Illinois declaring that black men in America have abandoned the responsibility of fatherhood. At that moment I became inspired to write in response to the speech on the behalf of black fathers in this country. The more I researched and wrote I came to the conclusion that this is an American problem not an African-American issue. The details in this book are written in the form of an autobiography and memoir of my life. But in particular chapters I take the opportunity to offer a contributed solution to the baby daddy and baby mamma drama, discrimination, and homosexual relationships. I feel that if Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman had an applicable understanding of the contributed solution which is in the form of an equation in this book. The event at the night of the Trayvon murder would have not taken place and both individuals could have walked away in peace. In addition to the documentation and story in this book I have also included my three rap albums in which I have recorded throughout my life over the course of 10 years. Each album represents different stages of my life. The most current album is "The Resurrection" which is not completed as of August 2013 but will be available for download soon. I want to capture the emotion of my experiences as I am inspired and be able to share the recordings with my fans as soon as I am done. However, this brings a new excitement to the rap industry because I have a book that enables readers to download rap music at any given time. So all in reality my fans and supporters can take this journey of recording with me. So I offer my story, wisdom, and music.

Dedicated to my sons, follow my footsteps as I follow God’s. Never allow anyone to degrade who you are, for you are kings birthed from kings. Always respect yourself by handling yourself as gentlemen, and always treat a woman like the queen that she is. Learn from my mistakes and carry the torch toward progression.

Business and arts stems from one’s individualism; it is the way of life’s cycle. Thinking and doing is only the blueprint of one’s creativity. Their creativity is a canvas of one’s facts and feelings. When a person is humble enough to learn and be honest with themselves, this creates the enthusiasm of a new expression. This new expression formulates into a business or art that is appreciated by our environment, promoting finer standards because through the naked eye, our society can’t see the truth.

    Introduction

T his book was written because it was a burden on my heart, and I felt that God had it in my purpose to do such a thing in a time such as this. The time is a crisis for black men in America, not to mention the destruction to the whole African-American race. Not only African-Americans suffer, but also America as a whole. Black men in this country are considered a problem and found missing in the homes and communities of America.

After being married for four years and filing for divorce with two children, I experienced the reality of being a black man in America. Some black men may walk out on their family for a number of reasons. But in my case, my wife from my first marriage was physically and emotionally abusing me. This book amplifies the voice of black men in this country so the world can hear some of our issues and know why black men may not be stepping into our destinies.

And after writing and living, I began to have the unction to create a voice not only for black men, but also for American men and women, regardless of sexual preference and backgrounds. Initially, I did not intend on writing a book to empower diversity, but it is the most intelligent thing to do. In fact, it is the right thing to do.

The book was not written to destroy the reputation of my ex-wife; I did not want to mention her name in the book at all. So her name, my sons names, and other organizations are aliases to protect their identity. But the events, emails, and other documentations are true.

This book was written for an attempt in a social change in America and progression for all people, to heighten the awareness to us all, and for a change in the way the judicial system operates. So I offer my story, my wisdom, and my music.

    The Statistics

    of Black, Anglo,

    and Latino Fathers

    in America

P resident Barack Obama addressed black men in America on Father’s Day 2008 at a Chicago church. Obama noted in his speech, More than half of all black children live in single-parent households. And that number has doubled since my childhood. Obama also commanded men to stop acting like boys and be men and be responsible for their children.

An academic journal by Matthew Oware states that black and female relationships are at odd ends. Based on his research, the black family is in need of desperate repair and in need of some sort of intervention. Contributing factors to this case is the percentage of male employment, which has affected the growth and dysfunctional behavior among males. According to scholars, when the father is absent, it is because they are faced with adversity, especially from the biological mother of the child, and they try to accommodate the child as best they can.

Today, over 70 percent of black children are born out of wedlock; single female households are more common than ever. Statistically speaking, black men give up their fatherly roles and neglect to raise their children. In the criminal justice system, black men have the highest incarceration rate and are poorly represented in the courtroom. Black males come to last when compared to black women in college and postsecondary degrees. Even college-educated black males have high rates of joblessness. Most black males live in poverty or are considered to be a hair above poverty. Because of the Great Recession, selling drugs, using drugs, robbery, and other criminal ideas become more common. This also affects the social relationship between the black males and females, giving the man an attitude of multiple sexual relationships with a player’s persona.

According to an academic journal written by David Mullins, there is a linkage to children’s behavior and nonresidential father involvement in blacks, Anglos, and Latinos. According to his
