    Acknowledgments

I am always grateful to my friends who love and loved me from the bottom of their hearts.

I remember my father and mother, who were my best friends and a source of encouragement for the ways I tread.

I have great respect for my teachers, especially to N. B. Nair, Prem C. Nair, Dr. CKC Nair, and late K. P. Appan—who showered affection on me and nurtured me in my growth—and I remember them with gratitude.

I remember all those human beings who have been tortured, discriminated, exploited; and their tears touched the depth of my heart. Always, I remember them in my prayers.

If you find any truth in my writings, I bestow it at the lotus feet of my gurus; and if any untruth you come across, I admit it as my own folly.

    About the Author

Jay Kotek is the son of late Kotek K. Vamadevan, a British soldier who won laurels in the Second World War in Burma sector. His mother, the late N. Saraswathy, was a teacher by profession. His maternal family had the roots of Hinduism, and his paternal ancestry were from the Jewish merchants who migrated to Kerala in the early seventeenth century. He was born in the smallest coastal town, Paravoor, in India. He was educated in Sainik School, Kazhakootam, run by the Defence Ministry of India. His interest in spirituality and religion started in his school days. The first time he was exposed to Bible were during the school days. The contradictions he felt in religious systems made him an atheist at the age of nine. He started correspondence with Osho while in school, with Swami Chinmayananda, Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati, etc., and met Mata Amritandamayi Devi in 1983 April, which led him to take the path of theism.

He had acquaintances with Bishop Mar Gregorious, Buddhist monk Anando, P. N. Panicker, and a great number of Osho sannyasins around the globe in his spiritual journey.

He took efforts to promote Indo-German friendship in Kerala. He started his career as a front office assistant in the hotel industry, marketing executive, social worker, and journalist. He also joined as a clerk in an electric company; there he was a trade unionist of democratic factions. He was interested in all kinds of spiritual movements and always in search of truth and self-realization.

He travelled to Europe, to Middle East, and widely in and around India. He went to the United States to join World Harvest Bible College. He is at present living in the United States.

    His consort is Jyothimole.

Kanupriya and Katharina are the angels born to him.

When a butterfly dances in the air,

    It is so beautiful to watch;

Like a butterfly I flutter the wings of my mind.

    As clouds of thoughts flow,

Silently I watch and scribble out of my love—

If it is ugly, pardon; and if beautiful, I am grateful.

    Love

    1

Two birds enslaved in different cages,

    Their hearts drenched in pain,

And when one sang a sad note on the separation

And yearned to meet and chirp once again,

To fly together in the sky azure,

To weave the dreams of their joy,

Sharing and nursing the younger ones.

Dreams are more colourful than reality,

How can dreams be colourful when freedom is denied?

But fate always marks the line of destiny,

And their sad melody remained in the night and day,

Though it echoed in the valleys of the minds,

None cared and silently tread away
