Exegesis: A Decade of Poetry

About this ebook
After reading Exegesis, I felt that I had not only read a wonderful collection of poetry, but that I had come that much closer to understanding the incredible artistic ability of a Poet who might one day be defined as one of the Greats. This collections makeup is strong and poignant, and after reading Mekaels previous collections, it shows the growth that Mekael has experienced in his personal life, which of course naturally affects the Poet within. Not to sound like a clich, but this collection is a true must have for all who loves poetry.
Eric R. Prescott, Poet and Illustrator
Mekaels skill for expression is intensely powerful and it rings out, loud and strong like the bell of a Cathedral in this newest collection. He has delivered a bold masterpiece of true poetic rendering in an antiquated style. His lyrical verses and delivery, makes him a true throwback, reminiscent of the poets of old. Mekael seems to be getting better with time.

About the Poet
‘Exegesis’ is Mekael’s fourth body of collected works, but what makes this collection especially special, is that it’s an amalgamated crescendo that depicts the past decade of Mekael’s poetic journey, containing works from his three preceding collections. When asked about his chosen title for this collection, Mekael replied, an exegesis is the critical explanation or analysis of a text, and it’s a term commonly used in reference to how Theologians study and regurgitate the lessons of the Bible. I’m using the word allegorically to define the breadth and diversity of the subject matter contained within this collection of poetry.
In preparation for the creation of this book of poetry, Mekael said that he needed to return as a student to the Poetry University.
A symbolic name for what he refers to as his, journey into the deeper realm of the art.
Mekael states that he felt an inner urge to study on a more intense level, as much as he could in regards to the evolutionary branches of his favorite form of artistic expression. This meant having to delve into the foundational components of etymology, linguistic typology, and the different forms of regional poetic vernacular and colloquialisms. Mekael states, there are 51 styles of poetry, and my goal was to begin the process of becoming more inculcated with and knowledgeable about the power of those styles as much as possible.
Acknowledgements
As always, I am very humbled and thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to continue to share my poetry. I can only hope that I do Him true honor as I use what He has gifted me, and I am forever prayerful that my work will be able to touch the life of just one person that reads it. There is no greater feeling than to have someone express to me how they were
