About this ebook

Erin never thought life could get any harder, being in eighth grade. She tried to convince her mom she had a split personality, but her mom denied it all. The meanest of friends are in her life, and she thought that would cause her to have another personality. Her crush, Tommy, never really noticed her before, not until the real personality did came along just when Erin was beginning to think she may just be an average teenage girl.
Anne was strong, loud, and opposite of Erin. She wasnt afraid to do or say what was on her mind. Erin noticed things happening to her life she didnt understand. She blacked out a lot, and people told her thinkgs she couldnt remember doing. Erin actually found herself becoming closer to Tommy, and although she didnt understand why, she could care less. Erins friends were vanishing before her very eyes as well. She could feel the tension around them, and learned she wasnt friends with them anymore. The only one who stuck around with her was Tyler, who was trying to figure out what happened to Erin. When the truth was revealed, Erin went into shock and hid her face from the world. Only Tommy and Anne could bring her back if that was even possible.
The thing Erin knew was that she was right. Erin always had to be right, and no matter what, she knew her mom had been wrong all along. She did have a split personality, but her greatest challenge is getting over her shyness, her abusive friends, and life as she knew it.
Writing this story took about a year, maybe a little longer than that, because I took a break from writing it. It was fun to write though, because it relates to what my life was almost like in eighth grade. Of course, none of that actually happened to me or anyone else. The character, Erin, is based off of myself though, shy, quiet to some people, having a crush on someone. Anne is just a cool girl anyone would love to meet, as long as they arent on her bad side. She could beat nearly anyone up, although it wouldnt seem like it at first glance. Erin is just invisible to others, not really seen until Anne showed up. When Anne would tell people to call her Anne, it was obvious for someone to be confused or freaked out that she was going off another name other than Erin, because they thought it was Erin.
Tommy is just a cute boy in Erins eyes, that has had a crush on her for a while. He never noticed her much until well, until Anne showed up! When he heard about what she did to Heidi, and how she back-stabbed her and the others, he didnt think they were talking about the same person. Thats how unbelievable it was that Erin and Anne were the same person in a way. I liked Tyler the most, because she resembles one of my friends, shes smart, and almost just like the character. In the story Tyler and Erin seem closer than everyone else, but it isnt really like that for my friend and me.
This story came into my mind after I learned that a split personality isnt just something you read in a fantasy book, but its a real mental issue in the world. I found it interesting and so I decided to write about a girl who has problems at home, but mostly a problem with her harsh friends. Anne is just the personality that made her who she finally is, and wanted to be. This is something written for any modern day person who understands, or wants to understand, what its like to be alone in the world, and soon find what you need to pick yourself up and move on. I know there is many people out there who knows what its like to be alone, and have no friends, and I really want this story to get those people to be positive and keep moving forward, and never give up. Or for anyone who can relate in any way to this story I guess, then I hope they really enjoy it.
A story where a girl faces what she knew all along to be a split personality, but was ignored her request of friendship and knowledge. A sort of romance, of some kind, where the two are pushed together by a third person, and e

I grew up in Cary Illinois, and have lived here for fourteen years. I live with my mom, two older sisters, and two cats. I love to write in my free time, or practice drawing or painting. I have wanted to become an author since third grade when I thought of my first story. It just came to me all of a sudden, and after writing a few short stories and series, I wanted to stick with the job. I enjoy non-fiction and some fiction, but I am better at writing things that can be true.

You don’t understand what I am telling you mom, Said 14-year-old Erin Rosemary. Erin and her mother were fighting about the usual, non-surprising, split personality. Erin thought she had a split personality because, after reading a book about split personalities, she figured the reason she was so tired was because her other personality would be awake when she was asleep. Her mother, Mindy, was sick and tired of the endless conversations, going on and on, trying to convince her poor confused daughter she was not suffering from this disorder. She never could get Erin to believe her, and Erin could not get herself to believe anything anymore.

Erin, if you had a split personality, there would be signs, questions, you would be completely confused! Mindy replied desperately trying to reach her daughter. She knew nothing would work, but she tried her hardest, in case maybe, one day, she would at last win the fight.

Mom! I do have those signs! I’m always tired, I ask myself why, and then I’m confused! Erin exclaimed furiously. Mindy rubbed her aching head, giving up to her daughter’s confusion and dismay. I never should have let her read that book, she thought angrily to herself. All it brought was war against us. Nothing she could do would help her daughter believe the truth. She didn’t have a split personality, she never did, never will hopefully.

Mindy walked past her angry daughter and stomped up the stairs, feeling steam shoot through her ears and nose. Erin was so angry at what she had started; she threw herself onto the couch and moaned. No one understands me, she thought to herself. Everyone hates me; I am the most ugly, hated person on earth!! She made herself believe the words she didn’t even know she herself would think. How could I be thinking these things? She wondered suddenly. Her eyes opened wide and again she made herself believe. It’s my other personality. She’s making me hate myself. I’ll probably want to kill myself! She sat straight up on the couch, and opened her mouth.

I know your there! My other personality that won’t get out of me! Come out! I’ll fight you any day! To anyone who was listening in the house, she would have sounded crazy, but only she and her mom were there, so no one heard. Her mom already was sick of her yelling at herself, so she just got use to the noise. Erin never made note to herself that yelling at herself would make her less popular, but even if she did remember, she wouldn’t care. She just wanted her other personality to leave her body for good.

Erin’s eyes closed abruptly. Why won’t you leave?!? She screamed in her head. It took all her will power to open her eyes and clear her mind for just one minute. Everything seemed to slow down and fade, and then came back crystal clear as if nothing had happened. Her eyes half closed, almost squinting across the room. She wasn’t sure what she was looking at, her mind was clear of everything for one minute. No school, no outside world, no parents or siblings, no friends or family, nothing. Her eyes closed, coming open as fast as ever before. Without realizing, she screamed, covered her mouth, and laughed a little. That was weird . . . She shook her head, remembering the same old world that she lived in.

She slowly and steadily got up from the couch, her jeans rubbed against her legs, from the heat of sitting down for so long. It feels like I’ve been sitting for an hour! She thought to herself. She looked at the clock. Its red numbers said: 4:00. Whoa! Four already? I’ve been asleep for two hours! She rubbed her sleepy, dry eyes and yawned. She couldn’t imagine falling asleep at two in the afternoon. That wasn’t like her. Probably my other personality again, She convinced herself. And she knew she was right. She was always right, because, in her mind, she was never wrong. No matter what, she had to be right. In school, she was right, at home she was right, everywhere, she was right.

    And she was right.

Mondays were the worst for nearly everyone in the world. Erin especially despised them. Nothing in the world could change her mind, unless some miracle was to happen. Every Monday, Erin was to report back to school for another five long days of learning. She would go into the back of her closet, search around for about a minute, and then pull out her plaid blue, black, and white skirt with the matching white shirt. After that, she would grab her shoes from the bottom of the closet and dig up her white socks. She changed quickly and put on her backpack. Fifteen minutes of free time. She had nothing really to do. Eat a banana, brush teeth, brush hair, wash face. Every once in a while she would put makeup on, but only on days she felt it was necessary. She still had fifteen minutes, and it seemed like an hour wait.

Every morning Mindy would wait ten minutes and then leave for work. She was suppose to leave seven minutes earlier, but she wanted to make sure that Erin was getting ready, for when she was younger, she would tend to put off doing her chores. Mindy took her time in the morning and watched Erin from behind the newspaper she read while eating an apple. Erin felt paranoid doing anything when someone watched her. She always looked up to make sure they wouldn’t, but with her mom, she always gave her a look to get her to keep going. Erin found it quite annoying.

Erin left for school alone at last, and was off to a great start. Her eyes were half closed, thinking of the upcoming day. What if I fall asleep, she thought nervously. And my other personality comes out to destroy my perfect day! She couldn’t help but think negative things about her day.

Her best friend Cristina came up to her excitedly. Her smile was as bright has the stars at night. Erin was a little afraid, seeing her friend so happy. She hadn’t seen Cristina smile like that in years, ever since she became emo. Cristina, hands in pockets, shoes scratching the street like a cat would scratch a scratching post, came up to her friend, black colored braces showing like there was no tomorrow.

Erin! Guess what? She asked with a great big smile. Erin smiled back at her over-excited friend.

Heh, um what? Erin asked nervously. She stood a couple inches away for safety, but close enough to make sure her friend didn’t notice. Erin noticed Cristina’s bleached blonde hair for the first time since she had bleached it. It was a white blonde with brown under it. It was cut short and was in a way, puffy. Almost like a trampoline. Her eyes showed, barely, under her mascara and eyeliner, dark as ever. She wore a short sleeved shirt with talking foods and short shorts to top it all off (Although she won’t admit they are short shorts). Her shoes were pure vans, brown and white, never ending awesomeness.

I got a Plain White T’s shirt yesterday! She exclaimed. Erin smiled brightly for her friend, not really caring for that band. A question came to mind to help before silence came along.

You did? Why aren’t you wearing it then? Cristina breathed before answering. All this excitement wore her out!

I wanted to, but I am going to wear it Friday because I feel like it, They both laughed, and were swept into silence. Their other friend, shorter than most people, came up to them with his dark black bangs slicked upward. His hands were in his pocket as usual, and he looked like he didn’t care about a thing in the world.

Joe! Guess what!? Cristina asked again, now freaking both friends out. They began their walk to school as Cristina told about her new shirt, and Joe swore and cursed his way to school, leaving Erin the only one not swearing. Cristina, and their other friend, Tyler, were swearing too. Erin thought cursing would be a one-way ticket to Hell, so she preferred not to. There was really no point in swearing, all you have to do when you’re mad is scream or shout why you’re mad. Swear words were nothing but stupid made-up words that people find useful to say when they are mad (most of the time).

They arrived to the Junior high school and walked separately to their lockers. Cristina and Joe walked straight ahead to their lockers, and Tyler and Erin had to turn twice around corners to get to theirs. Tyler and Erin were really tight back when they were younger. Now that they barely talk, it’s kind of awkward.
