Note from the author:
This book is dedicated to all of the situations, people, experiences, ideas from friends, and inspiration over the past 16 years that made this labor of love finally come to life. So many things have changed (for me personally as a writer and individual) since this book was penned which means there will be more to come in the future. I’m positive it won’t take another 16 years! Ha ha! I hope you’ll all enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thank you so much for your support! Blessings and love to each of you!
Advisory:
Let’s start by saying I haven’t always censored myself or my thoughts. With that being stated, my suggestion is that adults read this before you allow your children to and deem what is appropriate. My 14 year old sister, will definitely not be reading everything I wrote! LOL!
Love and Other Funny Stuff.jpg2.jpgGroupie
So in love with this man that I’m like a groupie at a concert
Completely disregarding that my feelings could get hurt
I’m thinking I’m losing my mind; done kept his letter like it’s an autograph
I don’t tell him I love him often . . . too scared he may laugh
I’d be his microphone if he puts his lips close to my face
I’d be his gun holster if I could rest just below his waist
I’d be this man’s guitar if he strums me with those fingers
And when he performs and takes me to ecstasy, I’ll be his backup singer
I’d be his piano if he promised to stroke my keys
I’d be his drum if he beat it just right
I’d be his saxophone . . . he could give me mouth to mouth all night
I’d be his sunglasses as long as I’m the only woman he sees
I’d be his groupie, his entourage, and biggest fan
I’d have tickets to his concert before it’s even planned
I’m so in love with this man that he’s my superstar
Got me jealous of inanimate objects because right now they’re closer than we are
I love this ordinary man, but in my world, he’s famous
And just like a groupie, I’m shameless
Christmas List
I’ve never been in love before, never the one to make wishes
I’ve never been optimistic about much of anything, never the recipient of heartfelt kisses
I’ve never smiled at any man as much as I’ve smiled at you
I’ve never believed any man could be capable of speaking the truth
I’ve never wanted to know anyone so intimately, touch their very being
I’d never thought a friendship could carry so much meaning
I’ve never wanted to make someone happy as much as I want to satisfy you
I want to know you, understand you, never get your feelings misconstrued
I want to touch you, feel you, listen to your heartbeat next to
