    EVERY PERSON HOLDS THE CODE FOR SUCCESS—THE DNA, IF YOU WILL, FOR living a fulfilled life. I call this The Victory Code and the book you hold in your hands (or are reading on your screen) contains the key you need to access the best version of yourself. This book will empower you to change your life from frustrating to fantastic. It only takes two actions: exercise the power of renewed hope and complete the workbook sections in this book. It’s going to take some thought and self-reflection, but you can do it, and when you have, it will be worth every moment you spent!

    The text and exercises in this book will take you on a journey of transformation through hope, perseverance and triumph. Perhaps you’ve asked yourself the questions: Am I good enough? What if I fail? Where do I start? How can I change now, when I haven’t been able to in my past attempts?

    In order to become extraordinary, you need the key to success and The Victory Code is the key you seek. It’s the winning life formula! Here’s a taste of what you’ll find inside:

    Hope: Hope shines its light within the shadows of life. It sparks the intent to begin anew and continue to dream.     Perseverance: Perseverance allows you to raise your bar through physical, mental and emotional action, because your life shouldn’t just be acceptable but fulfilling and memorable! Perseverance is about finding new strength and intensity to move you forward. It gives you the resolve to become whom you need to be in order to triumph. Perseverance can help you think outside of the box and be willing to be inconvenienced to get what or where you want to be. Remember, conviction and convenience don’t exist in the same place. The outcome of perseverance is passion, vitality and joy that you may not have known you could experience. Personal triumphs begin to feel attainable. Perseverance says: Stay positive. Be Bold. Be proud. Take time to celebrate who you are and who you are becoming.

    Triumph: Becoming triumphant is about showing up and actively participating daily so you gradually gain a mastery of what you are working on. You, yourself, can become a masterpiece when you commit to transforming into your absolute best.

    Triumphant individuals achieve results others only dream of but most often they’ve done it with the help of a team. It’s the community that surrounds each of us, the lessons taught, the books read, the awareness of all of the connections in life that help to create the complete you. Be mindful of this as you continue to excel. Always have one hand reaching for the stars and one hand reaching down to help others along their journey.

    I’ve always loved the saying: There’s no testimony, without the test. No victory without a fight. No healing without a sickness.

    CHAPTER 1

    The Hardy Philosophy

    WHEN I BEGAN WORKING WITH CLIENTS I DISCOVERED SOMETHING INTERESTING and unexpected: although people came to me to solve their eating and nutritional dilemmas, they often felt out of control in many areas of their lives in addition to their consumption of food. As I have worked with clients over the years, I have found that the same actions and new habits that help people to get their eating and nutrition under control also apply to the other areas of their lives where they’re struggling. I became an impromptu life coach, therapist and sounding board to many of my clients who told me I was their last hope. While I emphasize that I am not a psychiatrist or trained therapist, I can tell you that if you commit to internalizing the philosophy set forth in this book, and faithfully work on the exercises contained in it, you will see positive changes in your life. If you take one step towards reaching your goal, you are closer to success than if you stand still.

    I’m not usually one to quote car commercials, but when I heard the following in an ad for Acura, I thought it was a perfect fit for what I hope to achieve in my own life and help others to achieve as well, so I made it part of my personal philosophy:

    No matter the circumstance, there is an inherent calling to seek, push, improve, transcend. It’s a perpetual process, a necessity of the human spirit. You have an inherent knowing that within you is the power to rise above any situation or struggle, and transform into the brightest and strongest version of yourself!

    The Hardy Philosophy offers education, guidance and awareness so you can you get in touch with yourself and what motivates you to ultimately get in control of your health and life. This book is separated into chapters that will guide you on your journey to becoming the transformed person you want to be. Everything from personal development and finding your bliss, to bolstering your relationships, finances, nutrition, life-purpose, and health are discussed. Each facet of your life has equal power to keep you stuck or move you forward toward accomplishing what you never thought possible!

    Taking the time to answer the questions you’ll encounter in this book is imperative to success, so while working through the exercises, be BOLD: Become, Overcome, Learn and Discover. Opening yourself to these four actions will make all the difference on your journey to becoming the person you dream of being. Think of it as Game On!

    The Hardy Philosophy is an active way of thinking about life. Begin by looking openly at yourself without judgment or guilt to recognize where you are now so you can transform into the self you want to become. While you’re thinking about yourself, don’t only dwell on the changes you want to make; think also about what you love, what gives you joy, what you are truly good at. Once you do that, you will start to become reconnected with your intuition, the matrix of whom you are, why you are here, and where you want to go in life. You are, in another sense, regaining the self that you have either never discovered or somehow lost during the day-to-day routine of life.
