To Elaine
We’ve shared so much laughter, shared so many tears. We have a spiritual bond that grows stronger each year. Though we’re sisters by birth, God always knew from the start that He would fashion us as warriors and make us sisters by heart! Preach the Gospel always. If necessary, use words.
Love,
Your Sister Lucille
DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF
My beloved sister, Lucille Price.
I am so blessed that God loaned you to me on the trail of life. You taught, mentored, motivated, preached, protected, led, loved, and left nothing undone.
INTRODUCTION
After thirty-five years of writing, producing, and acting in community plays, I have recognized and used the stage as a powerful tool of evangelism. I gathered people of all ages and walks of life from various small churches, large cathedrals, local organizations, one on one solicitation, or anyone who answered an advertisement. With the producer, administration and a director in place, the last requirement was performers who had a positive mindset, a humble spirit, and some indication of raw talent.
Perhaps your church or organization would like to raise funds or just have fun staging a play. There is a plethora of self-help material online and in the library for acting, directing, and producing a stage play. My favorites throughout the years are: Play Directors Survival Kit by James W. Rodgers and Wanda C. Rodgers, The Technique of Acting, and The Art of Acting both written by Stella Adler.
Whatever the status of your theatrical background, whether novice, experienced, or veteran, you will become an evangelist as you share the Gospel Onstage.

⁸Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name: bring an offering and come into His courts. ⁹O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before Him all the earth. Ps. 96:8, 9
The Beauty Consultant is a skit where Pamela, the hostess, has invited four of her friends to attend a party where they will attain beauty
from the inside out. Assuming that they will be solicited to buy beauty products, her friends wait in anticipation for the Beauty Consultant to arrive.
They are surprised when she ministers to each one with a scripture in their distinct area of need.
THE BEAUTY CONSULTANT
(Pamela proudly straightens a flower in a flamboyant bouquet display as she places the vase in the center of a small table. She rearranges a chair or two as she takes a last approving glance around her room. The doorbell rings. She quickly checks her watch before scampering to the door
)
PAMELA
Jorgette! Always on time!
JORGETTE
Hey girl! (They hug)
PAMELA
Come on in. (Beckons her inside)
JORGETTE
Is there anything that I can do to help?
PAMELA
Everything is all set! (Gestures to depict the exquisite preparations).
JORGETTE
What kind of party is this anyway? I want to let you know right now that I just come to these make-up and jewelry parties for the food. (Strutting) I am beautiful and I don’t need no help.
PAMELA
(Laughing) You go, girl. But it’s much more than that. She just calls herself the Beauty Consultant. It’s her ministry. You’re going to love it.
JORGETTE
We’ll see. Where is everyone else? Don’t you just hate CP time?
PAMELA
Actually, I hate that expression. (The doorbell rings) They’re here now. (Answers the door.) What’s this? Did you all ride together?
ERNIE
(Three friends enter) Yes!! Katie drove. And this woman is a menace on the road.
KATIE
(Apparently sad) You should talk. (Bumping into Tiny)
TINY:
She appears to be a menace walking as well. (Gets food before sitting)
PAMELA
(Chuckles) Make yourselves comfortable, everyone. Our Consultant will arrive shortly.
ERNIE
(Pulling her invitation out of her bag) What kind of party is this anyway? (Reading) The Beauty Consultant prayerfully invites you to a life changing experience. Beauty from the inside out – at your fingertips. Contact your hostess, Pamela Praise for more information.
What product is used to make me beautiful from the inside out? An antacid? A laxative? (Laughing at her own joke)
PAMELA
I don’t mean to be vague, but there’s just no way that I can explain it. I went to a party last year and my whole life changed.
TINY
How? You didn’t get that beautiful; you still ain’t got no man. (Everyone laughs.)
JORGETTE
I don’t need no man to feel good about myself. I’m beautiful on the outside of myself, within myself, and –
TINY
And you still all by yourself, too.
KATIE
(Moves and knocks over the flowers in the vase) Ooooh, I’m so sorry. Pamela please forgive me.
PAMELA
No harm done. Sit over here, Honey. (Moves her away from the flowers) My life really did change last year. I gave the Beauty Consultant all of your names because you are my very best friends and I want the best for you.
JORGETTE
How badly do you think that we look? Or is this one of those network, pyramid, empty your checkbook deals?
PAMELA
You know me better than that. We’ve
