Here’s Your Package
May I personally thank you for your decision to subscribe to the Anshin Self Defence and Streetwise Awareness Course. This course has been developed especially for you after many years of trial and error
techniques, some of which have been improved and some of which had to be abandoned.
The Law:
"Section 3 of the Criminal Law Act 1967 states that a person may use force that is reasonable and necessary in the circumstance." It also states such a person must be able to justify their actions in a court of law
We will explain this legal terminology later in the course under the heading of Streetwise.
The techniques and real life scenarios that you are about to learn are not fictitious, on the contrary, all the following information has been taken from real situations that either myself or my fellow karate ka (karate practitioners) have been involved in over many years.
Although the techniques have been perfected in the dojo, they have been practised
on the street with Mr. Joe Public
.
Once again may I thank you for purchasing our system of self-defence and as my personal hero Bruce Lee once said, the best style of a martial art is;
The art of fighting without fighting

Before I begin with the introduction to both your course, and myself, I would like to apologise if the grammar and the punctuation are not of a literary genius. Writing has never been one of my strengths as I have a habit of telling it as it is

The reason behind publishing this course is simple. Over the last few years, teachers and adults have asked me to teach them the same fundamental tactics to increase their awareness and street sense.
There are simply not enough hours in the day for me to coach everyone face to face, so the obvious answer was for me to create our very first self-defence manual.

What does self-defence mean?
In short it is every human beings right to defend themselves with the up most force when faced with a dangerous or threatening situation.
3 easy steps you can take are;
i) trust your instincts, if something doesn’t feel right, then more then likely it isn’t
ii) look for the danger signs early
iii) be confident physically and mentally
3 vital strike areas;
i) eyes
ii) throat
iii) groin
When people talk about self-defence, everyone immediately thinks of an 8 stone woman throwing a 15 stone man over her shoulder and stamping on his groin. When in reality many situations can be avoided by using common sense tactics and talking your way out of a situation. Learning to be positive and assertive are a must. Self-defence also includes communication skills, streetwise tactics and positive body posture. There are many techniques we can use before combat. Not all attackers are strangers, 4 out of 10 men who attack women are already known to the victim, even friends and family members have been convicted of
