Joyce Day Guy

Joyce Day Guy is an Ordained Minister graduating from the City of Light School of Ministry in 1981- 82 in Kingwood, Texas. As a Child of seven years, she came to know the Lord and began making beautiful picture cards for her mother. Picking up coins on the dirt road walking to school, was what she used to purchase her Mother beautiful greeting cards and this peaked her desire for ‘rhymes and pretty words.” Her talents helped her to win 3rd Place in a Poster Contest in Third Grade at Lincoln School in Norman, Oklahoma. She writes poetry for others now, which is what this book is all about. Her Aunt Eula Camp was an English Teacher at Drumright High School in the 60’s and Joyce helped grade English Test Papers for her when she would return home to Norman on Holidays. She began associating herself with prose and a joy for writing came forth. Joyce had her own Card Shop in a farm house in Davis, Oklahoma in 2010 and called it “JoySee’s Card Shoppe” because it was what Joyce Sees. Joyce is intrigued with nature, animals and colorful people. Her Grandmother Tennessee Blanch McGeorge was Full Blood Cherokee and Joyce comes by her instincts true to form. She is very proud of her Cherokee Indian Heritage and Lineage which shows proud in her love for animals and people in general. I am sure You will find this a “Must Read” for your Library. A children’s park named McGeorge Park now takes the place of the old homestead where Joyce was born in her Grandmothers home at 631 East Eufaula Street, Norman, Oklahoma. A Library was considered being named after her Grandfather Lee Ander McGeorge. He was one of Norman’s first Blacksmiths and his shop stood on the SE Corner of Main Street and Porter Avenue where her mother was born. Her Grandmother came to Oklahoma in the “Run of Oklahoma” at the age of twelve. Her Deep Roots have caused Joyce to appreciate and love the landmarks where she was born and raised.

    Introduction

How It Happens When I Write

Introducing YOU to my Wonderful World of Words. It’s been a part of me since my childhood. I loved making special Valentines & Birthday Cards for my Mother. It always seemed to be very important to me as I recall, to pick and use just the right WORDS!

I still feel that way today.

My Third Grade teacher Mrs. Watson in Norman, Oklahoma, once said to me,

"Joyce, I see you as one to unlock doors into peoples’ hearts when you write."

This is my Journey and the reason why I write.

It’s an incredible Gift that God has given to me to use for Friends like YOU!

He first gives me either a Title or a One Liner, then develops it as I sit down to finish writing. The Title can come later, as I see where God is taking it. Usually, I have a total poem composed within thirty minutes or less. It amazes Me!

Your very Special, because God knew you would pick up this book to read & take it home with you to allow Him to talk to you, through my Words.

You may find one of these Poems enclosed were written for you. These are comprised of many years of giving Poetry to friends while bringing smiles to their faces, when they read what God has said about them. If your poem isn’t in this book, it is because I may have it stored on another Computer and not readily available to me now. If you want it in my next book, please send me a copy.

Praying you will find a bit of yourself with tender memories here as well so,

Come, Share A Cup of Coffee!

    Clifford Eugene Guy

Thank you Cliff for being the Love of My Life!

You have worked so diligently to locate my poems in

the many old boxes, trunks & hidden folders packed away or

lost in drawers from so many moves.

Thank you again for your tender unwavering love and all

the gracious smiles you gave me, attached to great words

    of approval and appreciation.

You’ve brought the sunlight into my life with great

fulfillment too. Your awesome support during the times of

melt downs, low ebbs, wrapped up in a great many tears, have helped

me more than you will ever know.

I love & thank GOD who gave you to me dear,

The Faithful Man of my Dreams.

You’ve helped to make this Dream of mine come true!
