Big Thoughts from Little Golfers - Nicole Weller
Nicole’s Swing Notes for Mentors…
For two to three-year-old children, use oversized lightweight plastic kick balls, 3-inch plastic ball pit balls and foam balls and have them mimic:
Two thumbs (‘thumbies’) to the grass
Feet under each ear (feet on visual aids like footprints)
Elephant’s trunk swing motion or a ‘One-Two Back and Through’ motion.
For four to five-year-old children, use 3-inch plastic ball pit balls and real golf balls to demonstrate and encourage:
Hands together as a team, thumbs down front of handle to grass
Feet under each shoulder (on visual aids like footprints)
Ball in middle of feet, Letter Y Arms and Club
‘One (backswing), Two (forward swing), Show My Shoe!’
