Fig 2.  A 5 selections Sunday horserace (6th was a Non-Runner) with £441K matched between traders. What was special about this event, the lowest rated horse at the time available to Back at odds 24 (decimal, to return 23 x the invested amount) – Bolly Bullet, won the race: Chased leader, going well 3f out, pushed along 2f out, headed leader over 1f out, always doing enough.

Horseracing is extremely popular in the UK and quite a few countries around the world, with serious revenue-generating first class competitions. Maybe only surpassed by football / soccer in high liquidities traded and general / crowd interest. There is plenty of action to go around, daily UK active racecourses will vary in number from 4 to 8, meaning somewhere between 25 to 70 racing events – every day (if not for a couple Holidays or unforeseen circumstances).
