About this ebook

Lightning Strikes and Harper T's timewave is born, changing Harper's life forever.

This book would be great for Early Readers or Middle Grade and maybe even for the adult who just wants a fun read. Join Harper T as the adventure continues in this third installment of the Harper T's Timewave series.

The story follows Harper and a group of middle school friends. The group has grown from the original four to five as Aaron, the once bully, now joins them as a friend. They continue to use Harper's timewave to get themselves out of predicaments...or sometimes into predicaments. Harper uses the time control power just for fun, at Steph's disaproval. However, sometimes the kids manage to save the day. What do the FBI agents want with Harper this time around?

Enjoy Book three as it is once again told through the gender-neutral voice of Harper.

    Chapter One

    Bail Hill

Snow had finally come. The days were getting few and far between that allowed for me to ride my bike. Oh man, these kinds of days drove me crazy. I hated walking to school, especially with snow boots on, yuk.

This meant less time biking around town with my friends. It seemed like it took so much longer to get anywhere around town. Plus, it was a whole lot colder out and nobody wanted to do much.

Football season was over and Dad had been driving me crazy. I wished he would help coach high school basketball. That would help keep him busy. He does help with track, but that wasn’t until spring, so he gets bored in the middle of winter, even though he was still teaching school. He gets restless in the evenings, so then he bugs me. I’m like ‘Dad, get your own friends, dude’.  However, as far as dads go, he was still pretty cool.

Mom had been busy with her lady friends. I wasn’t sure what they all did everyday, but whatever, as long as she left me alone.

Nothing exciting with the timewave lately, not since the FBI agents had left town, which they finally, after what seemed like forever, did leave. They’d brought in a whole crew to haul off all the motorcycle gang, and Jackson and his girlfriend.

We hadn’t heard anything back from Agent Scorpio. However, I knew that he wasn’t done here. He would be back.

Anyway, it was a Tuesday, and it had snowed last night, so I had to walk to school once again, no biking. This just sucks.

Hey Harp, Steph said as she walked up when I was hanging up my jacket in my locker.

Steph, I replied with a grumpy tone.

Geez, who stole your bowl of Captain Crunch this morning? Steph said.

I just shook my head. Ya know, as a matter of fact, Adrian did steal the last of the Captain Crunch. Jerk!

Steph laughed at me. Come on, let’s go find the others.

I grabbed my World History book then slammed my locker door shut. Steph gave me an eye roll for that one.

We had about five minutes or so before class started so we headed to the front lobby. We found Benji and Jen already there. Benji was in a full blown discussion about some singing competition he was doing online. He’d put together a video that he was pretty stoked about.

All of a sudden, in came Aaron. He came into the group sideways at a full-speed glide, as he slid across the lobby in his snow boots.

Yo, what’s up? he asked in an innocent manner.

Bro! Benji exclaimed, I was like in the middle of something.

Aaron chuckled. Oh, sorry bruh...but I have some fun news.

Oh geez, now what? Benji asked with a frustrated voice.

Bail hill is on after school. LIke a huge group of kids are going and the Petersons are going to have their snowmobiles there to haul everybody back and forth up the hill.

Really, that’s what you’re all excited about? Benji said.

Oh come on, we haven’t had any fun for weeks, Aaron said as he looked at us all with his stupid pleading eyes.

Jen perked up. She was bored and was ready for some snow tubing.

    I’m in, she quickly replied.

Aaron grinned at her and nodded, then he looked at the rest of us for more replies.

Okay, okay, I said, But I got to let Dad know first.

All right, whatever, Steph said as she finally nodded.

Then Benji finally gave in.  Fine, but I can’t break any bones.

We all looked at him then busted up laughing.

Aaron asked, What, you can’t sing with broken bones?

No you dork. I’m learning to play the trombone in band. I can’t play that with like a broken arm or something...and you guys know what happens to me at Bail Hill.

We all laughed. However, it was true. Benji was a klutz and if anyone was going to get hurt snow tubing it would be Benji.

I patted Benji on the shoulder. Don’t worry Benj, I gotcha covered.

I meant it too. I mean, I did have the timewave. If there were any accidents I would just like ‘woosh’ and back in time we would go, no worries.

I’d given Dad a call at lunch time and was all set to go tubing after school. The funny thing was, he’d already heard about it.  Evidently a large group of high school kids were planning on going too, including Adrian.

Dang high school kids. I’m sure they will try and take over the hill. Arrgh!

We spent the rest of our afternoon classes making a plan of attack. We were determined to control Bail Hill today.

    Drrriiiinnnngg!

The last school bell rang. Steph’s dad was actually picking us all up in their four-wheel drive or FWD truck. It was one of those king cabs that is extra big and all five of us could cram in.

As Steph’s dad pulled up, I could see that the back bed of the truck was loaded with extra large snow tubes, which were all strapped down.

    Shotgun! Benji yelled first.

Mmggh! The rest of us groaned as we crammed into the back seat of the truck.

Steph’s Dad was chuckling at us as we struggled to get situated, but we finally managed. He made us put seatbelts on, which was quite interesting when two of us had to fit into one belt.

Hmm? I don’t think you’re supposed to do this. Oh well, better than nothing, I guess. I chuckled.

Aaron tried to shove me over closer to the door, but I held my ground, giving him a stern look as well. Luckily Bail Hill wasn’t but a few minutes away.

Bail Hill was at the south end of town. It was maybe even still in the city limits. There were no houses around it though. It was part of the old oil and gas fields. The hill was a regular spot for local snow tubing. It wasn’t really just a hill, it was more like a ginormous monstrous hill, and it was steep off the front face. If your tube happened to take the wrong path, there was a big gas pipe at the bottom that sticks out of the ground. You had to bail out before hitting it, thus the name Bail Hill.

Really, it was Bell Hill, named after the family’s house that sat on the ridge, but none of the kids used the real name. If you took the right path you could go forever and it was a blast. However, the trip back up the side road to the top was a drag, but when someone was there with snowmobiles to haul you up it made it great fun. The problem was, everybody in town would hear about it, then a lot of kids would show up.

We pulled into where all the vehicles parked, just to the side of where the tubing trails were.

Dang, there are a lot of kids here already.

Adrian saw Steph’s dad pull up and came walking over.

Hey Mr. Stevens, Adrian hollered as he waved to Steph’s dad.

Of course, as soon as I got out of the truck, Adrian started messing with me.

Watch it! I angrily exclaimed as I glared at Adrian.

    Adrian laughed then
