Dedication
To Humanity in the midst of COVID
Chapter 1. On the Eve of 2021
Emma - I’m not sure we should call this a second wave. I mean, the first wave officially started for me on March 13, 2020, when I was asked to take a few things home with me since we were all going to work remotely for a few weeks. I have gone in the office once since then. But we had a break after four months. Thank God for the summertime and its conduciveness to a reduction of viruses and bacteria. Now, it has been well over four months in the second wave and we will likely have another six months of restrictions. So in terms of a period, this second wave is more like an ultramarathon. Don’t you go thinking that I’m turning negative on you! I’m super glad we developed additional coping mechanisms before the second wave! But as I sit in front of a blank sheet of paper to write my resolutions and my wishes for 2021, well, I feel stuck. Should I write all that I want and am willing to invest myself to acquire? Or should I tamper my desires because of the global COVID situation? I ran a few marathons so I should know what to do to better prepare myself. Yet, as an energy worker, I think I need to go all the way and admit all my desires out in the open … well, at least on a blank piece of paper. What do you think Leonard?
Leonard - I’m pretty sure we can feel what might be over the top and what is in the realm of possibilities at this point because of our training and who we have become thanks to it, essentially. So yeah, you’re right Emma, go for it; your intuition knows, and your guides might also be whispering everything into your ears. I made a list of 12 things I would like to achieve/happen in 2021 (and beginning of 2022). I am not at your level of intuitive hearing yet, so I will look it over again in a meditative and quiet state, to make sure each of those elements came from ‘above’ and not my ego or something like that. I need to practice my hearing and listening to my intuition so this is a perfect opportunity for me. I think I am getting better at it even though I still consult you often to hear your point of view on things I’ve interpreted for myself, like a validation ‘blankie’.
It might sound weird or pretentious to say that you and I would know what’s possible and what isn’t in these ‘Covidy’ times (as opposed to other people), but I believe all this work done on ourselves over the years and with the experience of what COVID has brought so far, it is realistic to be able to assume some things, research a few more … and feel/sense the rest. I do see your point, though. Our teacher seems unable to see more than us inside this thick dark veil enveloping our world at the moment, so how should we, the students, be able to ‘assume’ anything? Your life experience and pragmatic knowledge combined with your capacity for ‘connection’ render you able to formulate probabilities for yourself and the world… So, make your list, go crazy … as you see fit!
Thanks for your confidence Leonard! I do indeed feel much more stable in my mental and emotional bodies with the experience of the first wave under my belt. Maybe we should compare notes so I would not need to work so hard? I guess that’s it! I feel lazy … an interesting state for me. Am I lazy because I want to withdraw from the world? Or am I lazy because it’s time I stop and listen more intensely to what’s inside? I’m not sure how to do that really! You are the introvert Leonard, and I just realized I have never really asked you how much time an introvert spends inside their world. Please do help…
The short answer is a lot. I was once told my mental world seemed to take up a lot of space in my life, and it’s true. Another thing I’ve read is that introverts are generally studious and sensitive, more so than extroverts. Now, I would want to say that people who identify as introverts aren’t necessarily this way 100% of the time – there can be a balance, that’s why some may call themselves ambiverts. Introverts are capable of being extroverted school teachers. They just need ‘niches’ to recharge. Niches are locations or moments of mostly alone time. Being sensitive for an introvert cumulates to feeling (over)stimulated by everything, that’s why they (we, I…) need so much quiet time, with the least amount of ‘outside’ stimulus and why extroverts need so much outside stimulus since they need a lot more to feel ‘alive’ (stimulated). I love being able to immerse myself deeply, completely in something and give it all my attention, to be able to grasp as much as I can ‘its’ essence … and possibly to understand, or know, yet another piece of the Universe’s puzzle or maybe just be in awe of something sometimes.
I realize that I do want to ‘go crazy!’ and I want to be more aware in 2021. I want to enjoy every simple life moment. I want to slow down to become present in this moment. Did you watch the new movie ‘Soul’ from Disney? Well, I did. I want to be part of the ‘Mystics without Border.’ I want to feel the wind on my face and the taste and texture of maple syrup on my tongue. And when it’s -15 °C outside, I want to stay inside and watch the kids have fun in
