The vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi Ji to double farmer’s income by 2022 is a commendable initiative worth serious consideration to improve the financial and overall well-being of the farmers. Development of entrepreneurship based model in rural India shall be an effective tool to accomplish the desired achievements within the stipulated time period.

The goat is a poor man’s cow that plays a prominent role in the rural economy in supplementing the earnings of rural households because of its capability to produce quick returns.

Micro or small scale rural goat entrepreneurship based model has the potential to organize the goat rearing in the rural area to increase income. The farmers are to be oriented towards increasing their income by adopting advanced marketing strategies to sell their finished and semi-finished products.

Micro or small scale rural goat entrepreneurship has another opportunity for creating value added production systems. There is an ample scope of doubling the farmer’s income by just adding value to the goat products
