The project is aimed to double the income of the farmers in India by developing goat husbandry as the entrepreneurship. The proposed project is aimed not only to improve but also to sustain the improved lifestyle of the goat farmers. The following objectives have been identified:

To develop an e-Commerce Portal for maximizing the overall selling price of the products by micro or small goat entrepreneurs.

    The project will be conducted in Mathura District of Uttar Pradesh. In the First Phase, about 883 seed villages are expected to be covered under this project. The requirement of funds will be about INR 60000-65000 per seed village.

    Background of the Project

    The vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi Ji to double farmer’s income by 2022 is a commendable initiative worth serious consideration to improve the financial and overall well-being of the farmers. Development of entrepreneurship based model in rural India shall be an effective tool to accomplish the desired achievements within the stipulated time period.

    The goat is a poor man’s cow that plays a prominent role in the rural economy in supplementing the earnings of rural households because of its capability to produce quick returns.

    Micro or small scale rural goat entrepreneurship based model has the potential to organize the goat rearing in the rural area to increase income. The farmers are to be oriented towards increasing their income by adopting advanced marketing strategies to sell their finished and semi-finished products.

    Micro or small scale rural goat entrepreneurship has another opportunity for creating value added production systems. There is an ample scope of doubling the farmer’s income by just adding value to the goat products e.g. cheese from goat milk, different products made from goat meat, leather garments and so
