The Art of Appreciation
()
About this ebook
Emotions rule our lives, they govern our responses to situations we find ourselves in. Peace, happiness and spiritual well-being are states of existence we are all striving to find, but they can only happen when we recognise what is required from us.
My discussion in this book is to show the connection between appreciation and happiness. Many people would say that is very easy to see, when you are happy you are grateful, but think again ... is it really the happy people who are grateful or the grateful people who are happy?
Learning the art of appreciation is just that, an art. And, when you have perfected it, all becomes everything, and everything becomes all.
This book will show you how:
•gratitude is the key to an appreciative mindset
•that taking things for granted will undermine your well-being
•how to get your emotional responses to align right now, in the present moment,
because that is so crucial
•you already have what it takes … what you need is all around you in abundance
•to practice and repeat this pathway to spiritual growth and personal transformation

PREFACE
The art of appreciation is to be cultivated; like any artistic masterpiece, the beauty created is always in the eyes of the beholder.
Mario Noviello
Mastering the art of appreciation will unleash a power within you that will allow you to discover, reveal, and create the unseen – an invisible metaphysical path ahead of you. The power that thanksgiving will hand you is the miracle of a renewed fresh life. These are sacred words and when carefully used show love and God to be a part of your life. If you undertake this journey with me you won’t regret it. The goal for all of us is to be happy, that is what we all have in common. If you look closer, we want the relationships, the financial security, the physical perfection, the status of role plays, vocations ... all these things, to make us happier. The quest is truly endless. How we imagine the detail of our happiness differs between us, but not the end goal.
My discussion in this book is to see the connection between appreciation and happiness. Many people would say that is very easy to see, when you are happy you are grateful, but think again, is it really the happy people who are grateful or the grateful people who are happy? We all know there are many people who seem to have everything: a great job, wife, husband, wonderful children, financial stability etc. but still they aren't happy. On the same level we all know people who have the right to be very unhappy with their life situations but always are happy in nature. Why? Because they have the capability to remain in a state of gratitude. So, it is not happiness that makes us grateful but gratefulness that makes us happy. If you think it's happiness that makes you grateful, please think again.
Before we discuss the benefits of having gratitude in your life. I want to share with you a Japanese truth that beautifully explains why so many find the gift of giving thanks so hard:
Arigato, which means thank you; translates to also convey a meaning of being a difficult thing to do
. The myth, or rather, the mindset of scarcity that we hold steers us away from using this greeting; If one feels that something is scarce and always in short supply and is hard to come to terms with, then one will show a natural reluctance to do it. So then, how can one ever say thank you with a grateful heart? The Japanese know that saying thank you is a great offering to one another. The irony is, it is the missing part in our lives that makes life not only easier but fuller within itself. It is the part that if we live without makes life very difficult. We can see why the Japanese appreciate and complement each other’s gratitude, it is because they know the true kindness of the gesture. They know it makes life easier and more pleasurable for one and all.
So, before you read on, if you feel uncomfortable or find difficulty with this subject or truth of appreciation, keep an open mind until you have tasted the art of appreciation for yourself. Scarcity is the real root of all our problems. Thinking there is a lack of any kind will fuel greed, jealousy, comparison, hurt and unhappiness, of all types. Hurt people will hurt people, and I guarantee you, it's all due to not feeling good enough, which can also be paired with a feeling of not having enough. When you are mired in this way of feeling you never have enough you lose sight of
