About this ebook

Will fate bring them together again?

At 29, James is still single yet too tired to mingle. All his relationships end up the same way anyway. They are bland, monotonous, uninteresting, completely lackluster...

When his friend Jack sets him up on a blind date, he reluctantly agrees. What does he have to lose except a little bit of time?

While James' date is running late, Jack wonders why his friend is still alone. He is a catch after all. Who wouldn't want to be with him?

James makes a confession.

There is a girl out there that he would want to be with at the drop of a hat. He has no idea what her name is and he's only met her four times in a span of six years. But each time they met, everything just fell into place. Being with her was effortless. They clicked in a way that he's never clicked with anyone else before, and whenever they were together, he felt like he was the best version of himself.

He's wanted to ask her out more than once, but the timing was never on their side.

Is it too late to look for her now?

And what about the girl he's waiting to meet? Shouldn't he give her a chance first?

Aemiliya Jihn believes that anything is possible if you have the 3 P’s – Perseverance, Purpose, and Power (of a good cup of coffee!). She’s a former cheerleader who loves going to art museums but couldn’t paint or draw anything to save her life. She's living and loving her life in the suburbs together with her husband, and their darling chihuahua, Prince Ruffles. Untainted Fairy Tale is her debut story and one of many to follow.

    Prologue

The young man sipped his coffee as he gazed outside the café at the pouring rain. He is waiting for his friend to finish his call. He looked at the falling raindrops and started feeling anxious about what’s going to happen today.

It looks like she is going to be a little late. Traffic and all, the blonde man sitting opposite to him said.

It’s okay. I’m not in a hurry, the young man replied as he took another sip of his coffee. His brown hair fluttered at the cool breeze that passed through the slightly ajar window. Thank you for setting up this blind date, Jack, although I never asked for it.

Well, you did not reject it either, the blonde man, Jack, said. I mean, come on James. You will be hitting thirty soon. Do you plan on being single forever? Dating will do you good, and trust me, you will like this girl.

We will see, James replied, his dark brown eyes looking at his coffee that matched its color. He looked up at Jack who had started sipping his tea. The two of them had known each other since they first joined university. They shared all classes except one. They had ended up in the same seat in class as the university had tried implementing a new policy of assigning seats according to the first names in alphabetical order. Sure enough, the policy had failed as soon as the students started sitting wherever, but the two of them had managed to be friends with each other by then.

You will. I am sure of it. You and her share a lot of similarities, Jack said confidently.

Well, being on time is not one of them, James remarked.

Hey, cut her some slack. It’s not her fault traffic is so bad today, Jack protested.

Jack looked at the young man sitting in front of him. He knew that James had not made that remark out of anger. Although he could not claim to know James the best out of all his friends, they were close enough for him to know that he was just bored.

Why don’t we talk about other things as we wait for her? Your experiences are always fascinating to hear, Jack said,
