The Third Eye - Simon Staub
Summary
Many people in the western world have up until recently considered the idea of the inner eye, third eye, or mind’s eye a fantasy found mainly in storybooks and movies. Countries often referred to as underdeveloped or 3 rd world nations such as India, China, Asia, Latin America, Africa and the indigenous populations of most other countries such as the Pacific Islands, Australia, North America and Canada consider the third eye as being a normal and often a vital part of not only their culture but lives as well.
These people know that the third eye is in fact a physical reality. It’s a well-documented fact that everyone has one in the form of their pineal gland, also known as the pineal body, conarium or the epiphysis cerebrum.
The western or predominantly Christian world often dismisses the idea of a third eye as voodoo, superstition; hocus pocus, irrelevant or a product of someone’s imagination. But there are many examples of historical and anecdotal evidence, including many modern-day examples of it being used. This evidence even a logical, skeptical person should not dismiss without examining the real facts for themselves.
For those who dismiss it on religious grounds, they will find there are positive references to it in the bible and almost all religious writings from around the world. The pineal gland gets its name because it resembles a pinecone, sitting in almost the exact center of the human brain, at the division of the two halves, the right and left cortex. Scientist’s so far have only begun to discover its many different functions.
Throughout the ages, there has been much debate and speculation for the real purpose of the pineal gland. It’s known the pineal gland secretes the neurohormone, melatonin while we sleep at night and it’s directly affected by the amount of light in our sleeping environment. But there is very little factual scientific evidence explaining any other functions it may have.
The third eye is also found in almost all animals in some form of the pineal gland. Examples of animals that have a functional third eye are Iguanas and the almost prehistoric Tuatara lizards that can still be found in New Zealand.
Scientific evidence suggests that the pineal gland started out as or was a fully functional first eye in humans. This is because it still receives signals from any available light via our retinas and is involved in many bodily functions in a similar way as our normal eyes.
Microscopic examination of the pineal gland shows that it’s formed of cells with the same distinct features as many of the rod-shaped light-sensitive cells found in the retina of the human eye. The pineal gland receives signals from regions of the brain directly affected by the impulses traveling down the optic nerves, and like the eyes the pineal gland
