Soul Verse
It was not into my ear you whispered,
but into my heart.
It was not my lips you kissed,
but my soul

A Mother's Love
The little hand is clasped with love
As rain splashes from up above
No matter, though in bright red boots
The water in the puddles shoots
The glee inside with each new splash
From pool to pool the child does dash
The gentle smile, indulgently
The mother looks on happily
And on returning to their home
Where coats and wellie boots are thrown
In a rush to warm embrace
To sit beside the fireplace
With blanket and a sucking thumb
To sleepiness the child succumbs
The mother sits a little while
Contentment written in her smile
She does not miss the frantic pace
Of city life, there’s now no trace
Her friends remember how she shone
She regrets not once that now is gone
She looks down at her sleeping child
And promptly forgets she once was wild
This life is what she believes
It truly does mean to succeed.

A Parent’s Love
When two souls do fuse as one
A love so strong it’s bounds are none
The overflowing love does grow
A joyous new soul’s made just so.
And as you gaze upon your love
And give thanks to those above
For your gift your perfect child
So beautiful, so meek, so mild.
And so your journey forward starts
You know nothing will ever part
Your love will only ever grow
You know deep down it must be so.
And every day a new surprise
As she grows before your eyes
A step, new word, a cheeky smile
Makes your life complete, worthwhile.
Your dreams for her have not one bound
Your part’s to keep her safe and sound
Knowing deeply in your heart
You will help and play your part
Wherever her desires do lie
You’ll promise that you’ll always try
To be supportive in her quest
To always strive to be her best

Autumn Days
As Autumn days descend on thee
And colours glow
