About this ebook

Would you agree that the present generation needs to be warned? God's indignation can be seen everywhere already, and yet it is mounting! Who can say how much time He will grant to sound the alarm? Silence at a time like this, knowing God will fulfill each promise in the Bible, even the negative ones, is a serious sin of omission.

    Love Warns

    The Mounting Indignation of God

    Alice Lafferty

It is a little rough to read the stern tone of warning in this book, but it’s true to the overall scriptural story of God’s redemption, and in keeping with Wesleyan theology. As indicated by the book’s author, it is a hard message to tell, yet it is truly good news. God is our good provider, Jesus, the provided One, and the Holy Spirit is God’s provision to help and comfort us through this mundane existence. I look forward to its publication; may God bless and open the way for a successful book launch.

Ever wondered how a God of mercy handles judgment and yet remains full of grace? LOVE WARNS reveals His seemingly contradictory movements of love versus judgment. Do you know someone who nonchalantly believes in Jesus? Is the Lord bringing someone to your mind — someone who believes in God’s grace, mercy and love, but their life screams that they do not, in the least, consider that their actions will be held accountable? LOVE WARNS is the answer. The Holy Spirit led my sister to write this book, and then stamped His approval on it by inspiring her with the two-word title. Share the wonder of God’s judgment with that someone He has brought to your mind. Our great Savior assures us that, yes indeed, His good grace insists that His LOVE WARNS.

    PREFACE (TESTIMONY)

When the Lord began to speak to me about sounding out a warning of those things that will come on the Earth, I admit I was carnally piqued to tell of His coming judgments upon all who hate Him and love ungodliness. Yes! I thought, It’s high time His enemies hear of their fate. Then, at some point knee-deep into the writing, it became unthinkable for me to do so, for I had once been His enemy, so how could I dare do this?

I entered a plateau, during which time I could write nothing, even though I rehearsed in my mind and soul. He showed me great love and tenderness, even when I was a leave-me-alone-God person. It all came down to this question: How do I, a sinner, yet recipient of the beyond-description grace of God, sound out a firm warning that is also completely loving? It became clear that I needed to be emptied of all grand-standing for God, of all attempts to be His defense counsel before human eyes, and just write what He gave. My sincere desire to see God’s vindication in this world had been laced with glee for His coming reckoning, and that glee had to go!

For approximately one year I wrote zilch, concluding that it was simply impossible for anyone to convey an adequate warning-with-love message. What I learned during that time is that my past did not disqualify me to write, but a heart with any rancor in it certainly did. In Ezekiel 33:11 (NKJV) God said, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and to be like Him, His people cannot either. Therefore, we changed the title to Love Warns, and the original title became the subtitle. Then, line-by-line, we thoroughly read each page to ensure that there weren’t any Gotcha! elements remaining. Only then did the real work begin, as I listened more closely to the voice of God’s Spirit, while crosschecking the Record for confirmation and accuracy.

I do not desire to write against grace, only to show that when the heart is not right before God, even so-called grace will not protect. As James 2:17 (NKJV) tells us, Faith by itself, if it does not have good works, is dead, therefore, grace without obedience is also dead. Works are evidence of true faith, and obedience is evidence of true grace. Through the prophet Amos, God asks, Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? (Amos 3:3,
