1 - Introduction
Being an Empath means you are sensitive to emotions. Basically, that is what empathy is about. However, it’s possible that you may be receptive to more than feelings. When this is the case, you may be a Highly Sensitive Person as well.
Some people consider Empaths as the same with Highly Sensitive Persons. This is not the case. Although there are HSPs who are empaths, being an empath does not automatically mean that you are a highly sensitive person. It depends on how your nervous system functions.
Highly Sensitive Persons are those that have a sensitive nervous system. According to estimates, 15 to 20 percent of people have the condition. Having a nervous system that absorbs more stimuli doesn’t make a person an Empath. It is said that only 2 to 3 percent of people are Empaths.
This book is for the Empath who is also highly sensitive. It will make you understand both conditions: being an Empath and being an HSP. It will guide you in dealing with your unique circumstances and help you make the most of what you are born with.
HSPs are rare, while HSPs who are also Empaths are even rarer. Thus, it is natural for people to misunderstand your unique traits. Understanding who you are
