Preface
Hey Sis,
My name is Tierra Banks, and I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, mentor, mentee, coach, social worker and founder of Mended Inc- a nonprofit committed to restoring broken mother-daughter relationships worldwide! I know-I know, we are always defining ourselves by the titles we have, so forgive me, because those things aren’t at all who I am. My reason for revealing my roles was to shine light on the fact that my relationship with my mother has deeply influenced my relationships with everyone else involved in my life. As a child, it was only a sad story to me; one that reminded me of creepy unsolved mystery shows, but nothing that I ever lost sleep over. Back then, I had no idea how to define or identify trauma. I had no clue my mom had experienced a traumatic event. I thought over time she had gotten over it since she no longer cried when telling the story. I knew the story carried sentimental value because
