    Introduction

    Theme Song for the Introduction:

    Waging War, by CeCee Winans

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do, that we should walk in them.

    —Ephesians 2:10

This book is designed to sound off a warning for a battle raging against your destiny. Destiny Grabbers are coming for you, and I want to alert you to this very real fact. This life is a battle between good and evil, and because God created you (a man or a woman), human beings, in His image, you are being actively hunted by a powerfully persuasive real enemy. When a person makes a conscious decision to accept the call and act on their divine purpose, it’s imperative that they become aware of something (or someone, aka Satan) who always tries to create a diversion so that the necessary change or action is put off or completely discarded.

We must wise up and realize that we’re not going into our mission without stepping into muddy waters. There can be many pitfalls and clever traps set up to rain down bombs on your brigade.

You must learn to counteract what is coming,

and the time to prepare is now.

As you read on, your new sword is being sharpened on the whetstone. As you gain insight, your horses are summoned to line up for battle. With this book, you are sure to capture the right perspective by knowing what lies ahead, so that you can use the proper weapons once you enter the fight zone.

It’s important to note that in all things being birthed, there will be labor pains. Pushing and pulling will require all that you’ve got to bring into existence something that has never been introduced into the earth until now. When there is something that only you can do, because it was exclusively assigned to you, then it is specifically yours to achieve—or not.

As we make our way through these pages, find yourself within the chapters and become reborn into action. Try to exercise the strategies you read about here. This will help as you come to the understanding of what comes along with the yes that you proclaimed upon the acceptance of your calling. There’s a reason this quest is considered a journey by many, and it’s best to be reminded up front to keep your sights set on a victorious outcome as you proceed down this divine path. When you reach a new chapter subject, think back on this question that lies within The MRP motto:

Everything has a beginning, middle, and an end.

Right now, no matter what age you are—this is the middle of your life… Do you need to be reborn?

Perhaps here, in the middle of your life, you’ll find out that your answer to the question above is yes. At some point, each one of us must acknowledge that something needs to improve or change so that we can experience a form of rebirthing ourselves into a new direction.

Now, let us refer to the term personal assignment. If you’re not feeling accomplished upon hearing this phrase, then it could be that you need to improve in this particular area of your life, (since everyone has an assignment to work on).

The term assignment is defined as a task, a post—the allocation of work assigned to someone as part of a job or course of study. Assignment is an action term, meaning there are duties that must be performed or carried out. When we refer to the word calling, we can easily relate the two words as one and the same, but the word calling distinguishes itself to have a much deeper impact.

The term calling is defined as a strong inner impulse toward a particular course of action, especially when accompanied by conviction of divine influence. The Greek word for called means to be invited or to receive an invitation.

So, with that being said, we have arrived at the definition for the subject matter of this book:

A calling is the divine invitation to receive

specific blueprints for a particular assignment of work designated to individuals, to be done for a specific purpose.

Biblically, it seems to have always been God’s objective to direct a calling with a specific reason in mind. Being called is your chance to receive a very special invitation to know His plans and walk them out. The assignment you’re called into is always designed for you, and its purpose is aimed to reach others for Christ. It’s a divine opportunity to understand what He wants for your life, and when acted on accordingly, you will experience so many things that you would otherwise have missed out on, if the opportunity had never been presented to you.

Once you say yes and accept, or you decide to make moves towards the execution of this plan, you’ll need to begin preparing yourself consistently in prayer. It’s so important to cover yourself now for the future of the assignment, because we have stepped into a war by which we must play our position in the fight to bring the mission to full completion.

We will face off with ourselves (in many forms), as well as other interferences that are assigned to assassinate your movements, and at the least, become a hindrance that brings about calamity and delay in every way. Each of these entities have their own name, but collectively they’ll be referred to as Destiny Grabbers.

    Destiny Grabbers

A Destiny Grabber is an entity, force, demonic spirit, element, obstacle, decision, event, attitude, or emotion that has set out and determined to dilute, dis-involve, distract, tempt, deter, misalign, fumble, mangle, haul, or lure you off track and away from your path of progress; and ultimately assassinate the victory of your life’s mission.

Destiny Grabbers will kill the calling’s progression

and cause an onset of calamities to keep the doer from reaching a successful outcome.

There’s always a lot of talk about victorious testimonies, and people often like to share their good news about what God has done in their lives. But often times I can’t help but wonder, what happened in the middle? How did they handle the onslaught of opposition, and what were the distinctive personal hurtles that had to be overcome before they reached this glorious testimonial? Well, I don’t know about you, but I feel like we could also learn from the things that are not being shared so openly. And since having a calling upon your life often has supernatural elements attached, it would be most helpful to gain some perspective beforehand. Experience shouldn’t have to be the only teacher, where you’re forced to find out what you’re facing only when it’s already upon you. Well, that’s why this book is here today, so that you can be educated, armed, and equipped to go forward with wisdom in knowing about what could be waiting ahead—so that you will be ready to fight back! It’s time to be transparent and get candid and open about all of the hidden inner struggles that seem to go undocumented when working out your calling. It’s time to tell it like it is, so that these things will be spoken of and therefore revealed, and the people of God will not remain blind nor stagnant in their call. Therefore, may we truly live life to the fullest extent that God created us to live, and become the ones accomplishing greater things, according to John 14:12.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

    —John 14:12 KJV

    Belief Beyond Doubt

    Theme Songs for Chapter 1:

The Breakup Song by Francesca Battistelli and

No Longer Slaves by Zach Williams

Wait for and confidently expect the LORD; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for and confidently expect the LORD.

    —Psalm 27:14

Have you ever wondered if you’re truly capable of producing or representing this calling of _______________ (insert your project here) into the world? Well, it’s common for these kinds of questions to arise in anyone who is on the verge of birthing something the world has never seen from you before. The burden of carrying around such weighty questions can be seriously stressful, and it can potentially impart damaging effects on you and your project. This makes way for us to talk about our first Destiny Grabber, whose job it is to torment and pull hard on your psyche in order to annihilate every ounce of confidence you have within you. Many know this tyrant by the name of Fear. The definition of fear states that it’s a distressing emotion, the general term used to imply anxiety; and usually involves the loss of courage.

Fear will compromise your faith in God and who you are as an individual. It can cause you to compare what you are doing to what other people have accomplished, even when there’s no need for competition (since there is plenty of kingdom building work to be done). Fear makes you doubt that God spoke to the right person. It makes you doubt that you are smart enough, good enough, or strong enough to accomplish the task at hand. This kind of thinking will chop your courage to pieces. Fear can lock down your voice and keep you bound in silence, too afraid to step out firmly on the platform you were created to master. You will begin to put yourself in a destructive bubble, allowing your dreams to float away as if you were never worthy of the task in the first place. Once fear has taken hold of you, you become brainwashed into believing everyone else has what it takes—except for you. When you agree with fear’s influence, then you’ve given yourself over to this Destiny Grabber, thus silencing a much-needed voice that suddenly cannot find the strength to be heard.

Common fears and insecurities that can weigh down and stifle your progress include the following:

Fear of fast success or failure/not knowing your identity or your kingdom inheritance

Fear of feeling unqualified/not attending a higher education course for the subject

Fear of what will happen when you present a message of Jesus/backlash

Fear of being, looking, or acting different from the typical crowd/being labeled an outsider
