    An Amazing Discovery

    It was a lazy Monday afternoon and there were two more weeks of summer left.

    Mrs. Kent was sitting at the island in the kitchen wondering whether she should homeschool her three daughters, Veronica, Emily, and Maria, 14, 12, and 11 respectively.

    What do you guys think? she asked in despair. Her daughter Maria was in the gray, gloomy-looking living room that had no glam in it and she plopped onto the brown comfy leather couch.

    Veronica was snatching cold fresh eggs out of the brisk fridge and then sealed it tight.

    Should I home-school you guys? Anyone? Mrs. Kent exclaimed in a high-pitched voice. She was on the verge of giving up the traditional school they went to when suddenly Emily came rushing down the stairs ready to explode with news.

    Guys! Look what I found online! I found an article about the flower and how it can be controlled! She showed the article to Mrs. Kent on her laptop, who inspected it prudently.

    Looks like it’s in old handwriting. I think I can read what it says. Mrs. Kent put her reading glasses on.

    The article read:

    In Dharavi, in 1523 a miner named Reyansh Kent found a crystal flower that had mystical powers (or so he thought) and named it Videshee alghharib (exotic crystal) for its exotic shine and became famous from it.

    After many years of keeping Videshee alghharib, there was a tsunami so big it destroyed everything, and the crystal flower was missing for years. After the tsunami, the state museum announced the search for the crystal flower and that’s what everyone called it from that day forward.
