    Introduction

Understanding your chakras will also help strengthen your immune system and prevent a lot of communicable diseases.

    What Chakras Are and How They Can Benefit Us

    The word Chakra is derived from an Indian word Chakra which literally translates to mean wheel. Chakras are energy. Each chakra is a spinning vortex, or wheel, of energy that exists in your body in various placements. Each Chakra can be visualized as a spinning wheel within the body that houses the energy of that particular system. No person is without this system, but many of us didn’t learn about this part of our bodies in our basic science and anatomy classes. These wheels of energy align with different parts of our bodies, and each one has a different quality, or purpose, connected to it.

    In many ways, the chakra system can be seen as the spirit form of the body. Many esoteric and metaphysical practices today talk about the balance between the mind, body, and spirit. So, if you are looking at the aspect of the self that connects to the spirit form, then you are talking about chakras. Most people cannot see them, though some people might see a representation of them through the auric field and the colors represented there. In fact, each auric layer that exists in the energetic field surrounding your body is connected to one of your chakras. For every auric layer, there is a chakra connected to it.

    Each chakra has a unique color and vibration and can achieve a certain quality of high or low vibrational energy within your energetic life force. What this means is that if you have a lot of turmoil or drama in your life, or if you have the sensitivity to certain experiences or people in your life, your chakra vibration might become lower in vibration, and therefore less functional and even blocked of healthy flow. Conversely, if you are expressing yourself well, living up to your personal standards and values of life and taking good care of your purpose and your power, then you are likely to have a higher vibration of energy moving through your chakra system, keeping you in a fuller balance and positive energy flow. 

    Every chakra in your body has a connection to the other chakras, so even though they are represented by different qualities, attributes, physical internal systems, and emotions, they are all connected to each other as energy flows through your body in circles and cycles. Imagine that you are trying to get water to flow down your bathtub drain, and there is a clog in it that is causing the water to let out very, very slowly. Chakra energy can have a similar flow when blocked or carrying negative and unwanted energy, so in order to help the water flow clearly through the system, you have to maintain the pipes, so to speak.

    In general, chakras are unnoticeable, and you won’t detect their presence when you are walking through your daily life like you would an ache in your shoulder or a sore muscle. Chakras don’t possess feelings of that kind; however, they can be partially responsible for some of the more chronic issues you may have in your body, or mental state. For example, you may be dealing with a terrible case of insomnia and anxiety that no matter what you do, will never go away.
