About the Trainer
Image477.JPGHello, I am your trainer and my name is Bearsac.
Yes, I know I am a teddy bear, but teddy bears can train humans, just as well as humans can. Teddy bears see things about humans that you humans miss or refuse to see, in case you are guilty of it yourself.
So, that is why I am here!
I am somewhat of a celebrity in the town where I live, for being a talking teddy bear. Many famous humans have been photographed with me. I have travelled this glorious globe and am the featured teddy bear of my owner’s book, Travels with my Teddy Bear (Travelogues and musings of a woman with Asperger’s Syndrome and her teddy bear).
You can visit my website www.bearsac.com Be sure to peruse the galleries.
But let’s get to the course. Following is an introduction to the course.
Introduction to
the Course
You humans make teddies laugh with your mishearings. Teddies are meant to be the ones with the cloth ears, not humans!
Image484.PNGThe following is an example of what I mean.
A partner of a leading firm comes back to her office and says to her assistant, Did you get my voicemail where I said, ‘Ship the Enron documents to the Feds?
The assistant goes white. Oh my God! I thought you said rip the Enron documents to shreds!
That’s what happens when there is an error in communication.
How can you lessen the risk?
What about effective communication?
Two brothers were arguing. They both wanted a lime for their recipes but there was only one left. Each insisted that he needed the whole lime, not half.
Their teddy bear asked each what they wanted the lime for.
One needed it for the juice for his sauce, the other needed the rind for his biscuits.
The brothers high-fived each other when they realised that they could both have what they needed from the one lime!
All it took was a teddy bear asking the right question and listening to the answer to what seemed like an impossible human dilemma!
Communication is, without doubt, the most important skill you humans require to live successfully. Whether at home or the workplace, at the shops, or with friends, if you can communicate well, you have got most things going your way. Humans do not just listen to a good communicator; they are ready to bend or unbend to the human person’s needs.
Not all humans are privileged to gain communication skills from the word ‘go’. However, with a goal to become a successful communicator and the right source to pick up the skills, half the job is done.
