WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK?
Even though this is a short book, designed to be read in about an hour, I don’t want to waste your time if it’s not a good fit. Take a few minutes and read this entire section to see if Main Street Author is a smart investment of your time and energy.
First and foremost, Main Street Author is NOT for the person who is looking to make money by selling his or her book, nor is it for the person who is looking for worldwide fame and recognition. There are many how-to books and book publishing services for people looking for widespread fame.
Instead, my focus is on helping the local business owner become the recognized expert and authority in his or her local community by becoming a book author and leveraging a book-centric marketing strategy. Specifically, I wrote Main Street Author for two types of business owners:
1.The local Main Street business owner who has a place of business where people visit in order to buy the products or services. These types of business owners are professional service providers, including lawyers, insurance agents, financial advisors; healthcare professionals, including dentists, physicians, chiropractors, therapists; and high-ticket or luxury product/service providers, including certain types of retailers, real estate professionals.
2.The business owner who serves local Main Street businesses, including tax professionals, business and marketing services, technology service providers, software developers, etc.
If you fall into one of the above categories, you will be happy to know I wrote this book just for you and your specific needs, requirements and opportunities. After working with thousands of Main Street business owners over the past two decades, I get these types of businesses and what it takes to survive and thrive in the 21st century, which is why I decided to write Main Street Author—specifically for these three primary reasons:
1.To share a unique type of short, helpful book (the shook™) I believe Main Street business owners should leverage in their business and give you a step-by-step formula to create one.
2.To shift your focus from traditional, everybody has one marketing tools like brochures, to an authority-building, customer-attraction asset—your own shook.
3.To invite readers to connect with me so we can determine if working together to publish a shook is the right next step.
I am a "what you see is what you get kind of guy, and I’m not shying away from the fact that while my intention is to open your eyes to a new marketing asset for your business, I also want readers who get what I have to offer, to

I am perplexed when people criticize business book authors for selling too much
in their books because, in my opinion, not enough business-related books offer readers a next step.
This next step should be a helpful continuation of the book’s promise and I believe is a critical part of the book.
Today, more than ever before, people are seeking quality information to help them make smart decisions, save time and avoid mistakes. If you and your products/services can do this, why would you be squeamish about letting people know how you can help them and offering a logical next step?
