This Book is Dedicated to the

Memory of My Dad

On Christmas Day of 2013, my dad, Ernest E. Siano, prayed the Prayer of Salvation with me and received Jesus as his Savior and Lord. The time I spent taking care of him allowed me to write this book and the Lord used him in many ways to inspire me as I wrote.

Valentine’s Day, 2015, my dad peacefully went home to be with the Lord. When I finally left him that morning, I went home and asked the Lord for a Scripture to confirm He was in Heaven. Even though I believed that he was and had received confirmation, I needed to hear from Jesus through His Word. When I picked up the Bible, the first words I read were The Lord is my Light and my Salvation … (Psalm 27:1 KJV). This is the very same Scripture the Lord had given me for my mom as well.

After the artist read the book, we agreed to leave it up to the Holy Spirit to inspire him to create the picture for the cover. For Us, Jesus showing His bruised hands, is the water color painting of that inspiration. Truly the Holy Spirit revealed Jesus’ intention, and I am very grateful to the artist for trusting the Lord with this project. The following Scriptures are confirmation of his inspired painting.

Jesus first showed His disciples the bruises on His hands and side so they would believe and receive the salvation Jesus came to give us all.

The very first salvations were ten of the disciples of Jesus when He had returned from ascending to His Father in heaven and appearing to His friends to show them His hands and side. This was Jesus’ testimony to them. When Jesus showed them His bruises, and as they believed, He breathed on them, and they received the Holy Spirit Who seals us in the day of our salvation.

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you! After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again Jesus said, Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. And with that he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit. (John 20:19-22 KJV).

Introduction

This book has been written and prayerfully inspired to help those who seek God to find Him by the grace and power of His Holy Spirit, and receive Jesus, Who is the only way of salvation and to be redeemed to our Heavenly Father; by Scripture, points out the true Gospel of Grace verses religious teachings, so we as believers can know the truth and walk from victory and into the abundant life Jesus came to give us; and to encourage and hopefully help us receive more of a desire to read and study the Word of God and rely on the Holy Spirit to speak to us as we learn from Him and He reveals Jesus — the goal being — to have a growing personal, loving and trusting relationship with the One Who gave His life for us the way God has intended from the beginning of time.

My prayer is that God will open the eyes of your understanding, touch your heart, and introduce Jesus Christ to you as your Lord and Savior. According to biblical prophecies the end times are here, and Jesus will soon come to gather those who are His and take them home (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV). Before this happens, He has promised that the gospel will be preached throughout the earth. He is pouring out His Spirit for the last great harvest. It is time to put away all but the truth of the Word of God and be introduced personally to Jesus Christ. My hope is that the gospel message is revealed to you by the anointing power of the Holy Spirit and that the words speak to your heart about the reality of God’s love for you. His purpose is for you to see the Father’s love and how He provided redemption through His precious Son. Then you will be touched by God’s grace, you will know salvation is yours, and you will be forever changed from glory to glory in Jesus name.

Each chapter stands on its own as a reading, but I hope you read them all. May they draw you closer to God by His grace. Jesus came to have a personal relationship with you. He is our personal Savior.

If you do not know the Lord Jesus, you may still encounter Him; salvation is for all. God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). He loves everyone equally. He said you will find Him if you seek Him with your whole heart. It is not enough just to know about Jesus. He came for you to know Him personally. When you do, He said He will always be with you (Hebrews 13:5). He is alive and sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven, and He shares His full inheritance with those who are His. You become a child of the Most High God and a citizen of His Heavenly Kingdom. Scripture says, "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world" (1 John 4:17). Salvation is the promise of eternal life with God in heaven and wholeness while you are still here on earth. The Father promised all the blessings in the Bible for those who believe and follow the Savior, Jesus Christ. Each chapter contains a prayer that you may use as a guide, and through faith, praying with a sincere heart, you will enter into a personal relationship with Jesus when you receive Him as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 3:12).

Backsliders, you are on His heart. Do you remember His love when He first found you? We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Do not let anyone or any thing separate yourself from Him. The Lord knows your heart. There is still time to turn back to the blood-bought work of Calvary and to follow Him. He alone is the hope of glory in this life and the life to come—not religion, but Him! Return to your first love, Jesus. He has not left you. Chapter 6 is dedicated especially to backsliders. If you read nothing else, please read this chapter.

The writings in this book are from the experiences I have had with the Lord over the years according to the Word of God and by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit bringing them back to my memory. I prayerfully have written as He has inspired. I kept the text in the first person plural as much as possible because although it’s been written with others in mind, I am speaking to myself as well. It is good to be reminded and thankful of all the Lord has done for us, all He has revealed to us and to keep building on the solid foundation of Jesus and the grace and truth of the Gospel. He has shed His blood to redeem us and to establish the Father’s New and Everlasting Covenant for us. It is in honor of Him and to our benefit to study the Word, and remind ourselves of the great price that was paid for us and to receive the abundant life He came to give us.

For those who do know Jesus as Lord and Savior, you may find this book helpful in sharing the Gospel which is of grace and truth as the Apostle Paul reminds us in the epistles. As you read please keep in mind also that this book was written to the unsaved as well. There are many Scripture references in this book to aid you to carry on the Great Commission, as He had instructed.

As you read, I pray the Holy Spirit enlightens your heart to the love of God and the Father calls you to His Son. When this occurs, please do not hesitate to draw near, pray and receive the gift of salvation, for He says,‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).

The Gift of Salvation is for everyone and choosing it is the most important decision you make in your life and for your eternal destiny.

Chapter 1

The Truth Uncovers Love and Reveals Jesus

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins (1 John 4:10). God is love. These three small words have an eternal effect upon every human being who has ever lived. Throughout history (Matthew 25:34; 1 Peter 1:20), God has continually demonstrated His love for us. When God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, He said Moses could validate himself to the Israelites by telling them, ‘I AM’ has sent me to you (Exodus 3:14). For God, there is only the present, He lives in the realm of eternity. There is no time in the Spirit of God. He is calling us to His saving Grace, Jesus Christ, His beloved Son. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:9). If only we would stop for a moment to listen to the One who created us and to make the only decision that effects our present life and our eternity.

We may think we love God, but it’s impossible to love someone we do not know personally. We think of Him in terms of what we have experienced and have learned from others, including religious teachings. We try to show love through our actions, but we do things for others or do what we think will please God to try to keep in good standing with Him. We may do a favor for someone to bless that person, but we will usually expect a reward or a show of appreciation. If we do not receive it, we may get offended. Scripture tells us God is love (1 John 4:8) and that love is defined by the fact that He first loved us (1 John 4:19), not that we love Him. Love didn’t begin with us nor does it end with us. It is all about Him. Until we learn the truth from the Word of God, we are in darkness about the reality of love.

Love came from God and is perfect. We can express what we consider love, yet our hearts can trick us into acting with a selfish or manipulative motive. God’s love is unconditional, free, and without boundaries. This is true love. His love is manifested through us by the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us as believers. God’s love in us does not seek to satisfy our own needs first, but looks toward the needs of others. It is patient, kind, gentle, meek, and full of understanding and forgiveness. By studying the truth in the Word of God, we find the origin of love and what love is and always will be. Out of love, the Father offers us salvation through His Son, who is the supreme sacrifice for all our sins for all eternity. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

Jesus is God’s greatest expression of His love for us. Only through His Son, whom God gave as our sacrifice, can we be saved from our hopeless state of sin and enter into a relationship with Him. His love flows into our hearts and His Holy Spirit is sent to dwell in us when we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. In pursuing, honoring, and trusting Him and learn the truth of His Word, we abide in Him and He abides in us. Then we are able to love Him back and to love others. True love is free, unconditional, giving, and unselfish. It seeks the truth. The Bible says love believes the best, hopes the best, endures all things, and never fails. Paul explains love, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as this, in his letter to the Corinthians: Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:4–8).

Knowing that God loves us, we come to trust Him. We have a relationship with Him based on the truth of His Word, who is Jesus Christ. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1–2). And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14). Whoever receives Him becomes a child of God (John 1:12-13). Scripture reveals Jesus as the strong foundation upon whom we build, and there is no other (1 Corinthians 3:11). The Father in heaven sent His Holy Spirit to teach us the Word and to reveal Jesus to us. He speaks to our hearts through His Holy Spirit, and if we receive the truth, we repent as we change our minds from former beliefs to believe the Word of God. He changes us according to His will as we read, meditate on, and study the Word of God. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2).

When God gave Moses the law, the Ten Commandments, He said the most important one is to love God with all our hearts, all of our minds and all of our strength and have no other gods before Him. The law is God’s perfection, and man is imperfect. He knew we could not keep the law and this is where we see His love, He saves us from ourselves. God defines love as He loving us (1 John 4:10). He gave us the law because the Israelites at Mount Sinai said they could fully obey God on their own, they were prideful. (Exodus 19:7–8). They forgot that they weren’t the ones who rained manna from heaven so they could eat, spouted water from a rock so they could drink, or opened up the Red Sea to escape their enemies; pride entered their hearts and they needed to be delivered once again. Without Him, we fall into the same pride today. We need to know the truth; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). We need deliverance from our ourselves and reach out for our Savior. God provided. God always provides, and He is more than able.

God did not create us to die, to be sick, or to lose fellowship with Him. Adam fell and we all became sinners. The Father planned our redemption through His Son and to restore our relationship with Him (1 Thessalonians 5:9). He knew our fall would happen, and He prepared our salvation before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:2). He never intended to leave us in a rideful, sinful state. It is incredible that before we existed, God knew His creation would fail and that He planned restoration and reconciliation for us. He knew there was nothing we could do to earn our way to heaven. We would be born into a state of sin. The law, which is God’s perfection, puts the burden on to us to be perfect and to do perfect works, which we cannot, nor can it save us from a sinful state. God gave the law to show us we need a savior. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ (John 1:17) so that through Him we could be cleansed of our sin once and for all. Jesus, sent by the Father, is the Savior, and through Him we have redemption, justification, sanctification, and righteousness (Romans 6:18–19, 8:10; Philippians 3:9; 1 Corinthians 1:30; Ephesians 1:7), restoring our relationship with God. This is the intimate relationship that Adam forfeited in the garden of Eden (Romans 5:17). Even then the Father had planned our salvation to end our separation and restore our fellowship with Him.

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’ (Matthew 25:34).

Jesus Christ was given by God the Father to mankind as a most precious gift to redeem us from sin and be reconciled with the Creator. Jesus is the Son, the One who came to save that which was lost (Matthew 18:11; Luke 19:10) and He was the only One who could. Under the Old Covenant sins were covered by the blood sacrifice of animals. It was a temporary atonement. The Father wanted to establish His New Covenant whereby the shed blood of a perfect sacrifice would wash away all sin and would redeem mankind to Himself. That is why Jesus emptied Himself as God and came down to earth as a man to fulfill the law for us and be our perfect sacrifice. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:6-8 KJV). That is why He had to die on the cross and rise again. Now Jesus is alive and glorified and sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven, making intercession for those Who are His own. Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified You on the earth. I have
