I am married with 4 children and currently live in Victoria, B.C.. I love travelling and I love kids, specially my own. Our family trips are my inspiration as they are some of the best memories of my life. The time spent together gives us a wonderful family bond and the education my kids have from their trips is invaluable. Having travelled the world fairly extensively, I started to write in order to share with children how amazing our world is and how important it is to look after it and appreciate what we have. I have had so many people over the years tell me that they did not want to go to a certain place because of a fear of something.... ex. "I would never go to Australia because it is full of snakes and spiders". Yes, Australia does have snakes and spiders, but in the 5 years I lived in Australia I saw one snake and never encountered a poisonous spider. Driving in L.A. is kind of crazy, in my opinion, but do people not go to L.A. because it has cars? I want to encourage kids to not live in fear of the unknown. We miss out on so much in life if we live in fear. Our world is incredible.....explore, appreciate, and care for it and each other.I hope my books will inspire you and bring you enjoyment.Sincerely,Jane

The Travel Adventures of PJ Mouse - Gwyneth Jane Page

    Chapter One

IN WHICH PJ TAKES A FLIGHT

They were going on a big airplane, a really big airplane, to Queensland, which is in a country called Australia. At least, that’s what PJ had been told.

PJ felt very special and important with his own suitcase, even if it was a very small suitcase. Just big enough to carry his hat, sunglasses, vest and flip flops—AND he had his very own passport with his picture in it. It was quite a good picture too. Even his ears weren’t TOO flopped down in the photo. Yes, he was quite happy about his passport.

At the airport, when they came to the customs inspection, the lady looked at him, looked at his passport, and gave it a big stamp of approval. She must have liked my photo too, thought PJ happily.

Then they were walking and walking and walking, down long corridors, past glass rooms with airplanes parked outside of them. At Gate 49 they stopped, and there was their plane. Oh my goodness, that is an extraordinarily large plane! It must weigh an awful lot! How can something so enormous fly and actually stay up in the air? thought PJ nervously, until he was distracted by a funny sight on the tail of the plane.

Why do they have such a funny looking mouse painted on the end of the plane? Its ears are way too small and its tail too big and it seems to be completely lacking in whiskers.

    That’s not a mouse. It’s a kangaroo, said Rebecca.

What is a kanga, a roo…what you said? asked PJ.

A kangaroo is a kangaroo, stated Megan. That’s just what it is. Just like you are PJ the mouse.

You are sure it’s not a big, funny looking mouse? I mean maybe mouses grow differently in Australia because of being upside down. MAYBE being upside down causes the feet and tail to grow MORE and the ears LESS. So it IS a funny looking mouse and they have just made the mistake of CALLING it a k.a.n.g.a.r.o.o. Which is a very peculiar word by the way and I don’t know why anyone would call anything a kangaroo! declared PJ.

Well, it’s not a mouse. It is a kangaroo. It is a large animal that ONLY lives in Australia and it hops everywhere using its very large feet and tail and it carries its young in a pouch. Even the smaller wallabies are much bigger than you, said Rebecca knowingly.

"OH! Yes well, most things seem to be bigger than me! Wallabies did you say. What are wallabies? Oh, never mind! I don’t think I am going to understand half of what
