ABOUT THE AUTHOR
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I would like to thank my own children who have always been an inspiration to me. I would also like to thank all my students, especially one from whom I learnt some of the most important lessons in life. Thanks to my father who shared his love for birds with all the children in the family, teaching each one of them to observe and appreciate nature.
With love

THE AUTHOR´S WORDS
After having published my first novel, Northern Hemisphere Southern Hemisphere, The Power of Love
in Spanish and in English, I knew I had something else to communicate. I had had this book for children in my mind for quite a long time. Teaching children about so many things in our English classes had opened a door to writing my own book for them. Environmental problems around the world were clearly showing me there was something else to do. I thought that we, as adults, had to assume our responsibility to help them live in a better world. I knew there were many people and organizations hardly working to achieve better results regarding this matter.Writing for children was a priority. My aim was to help them to become aware, through a story told under the point of view of animals, of what we can do if we decide to save the Earth. This tiny, brave creature Wind
the ovenbird will find out if he can fly around the globe starting his trip from the end of the world. If animals can achieve a major task in the story what else can we do? This is the question I want every child around the world to think about, for they have in their hands the future of our planet.God bless all the children around the world.

CHAPTER 1
Image%201.jpgWind
, the ovenbird
I´d like -to be a swallow,
said Wind. Why? You can´t! You are an ovenbird,
exclaimed his father. Wind was a smart ovenbird that lived in the countryside in Buenos Aires province in Argentina. He loved flying and building mud houses. Ovenbirds are fabulous builders. They are said to be the best constructors in the world of birds. If Wind hadn´t been an ovenbird he would have made a great architect. He very much loved the open wind when he was playing aerobatics. One day he had an idea, he was planning to go further on, he decided to be a swallow.
-Why do you want to be a swallow,
insisted his father.
-Swallows migrate, they can see the world.
-That´s good! So, if you were a swallow you could travel around the world
, uttered Wind´s father calmly. "But, you
