Kay Whitehouse

Kay Whitehouse lives in DeLand, FL. Writing and creating stories, as well as song lyrics, is Kay's passion. A published author, she was inspired to write A Hand Truck Named Dolly series for children ages 5-8 after buying a small hand truck to assist her move into a new house. Kay found herself talking to it and calling it Dolly. When she told her grandchildren a bedtime story about a hand truck who was adopted by a family and named Dolly they begged her to write the book. She hopes you like it as much as they do.

Hi, everyone. My name is Dolly. I am a hand truck. I live with my wonderful family in a huge white house in DeLand, Florida. But right now I am strapped to the back of a snazzy white camper. I’m not real sure what camping is, but by the end of our stay in Key West, I will be well-informed.

The camper and I are being pulled by my family’s SUV, and I’m having a blast back here. The breeze feels good on my shoulders as I take in all the sights and sounds. All five of my senses are getting a workout!
