About this ebook

Pop Academy of Music has penned a beautiful fairy tale in the guise of a straight-up fantasy YA Book, and it succeeds on both counts. In explaining Aleph through the world of Sound. The story takes place in a massive web of an invented world in which the Lunar Princess protects the Nocturnal creatures and animals from the evil King Constellation

    Chapter One

It's the middle of the night when the call goes out. It's a soft, lilting tune. The wind picks up the sweet sound and carries it, far over the land, where it swoops into the open windows of every house, reaching into the dreams of all who are slumbering.

And, in those late moments, it even reaches into the ears of a young horned owl. Orion blinks her large, yellow eyes. She gives a rumpled sort of hoot and ruffles up her tawny feathers.

The castle isn't very far away from Orion's oak tree. It's a large thing, built from moonbeams and starlight. The shimmering building comes into view quickly. Orion flies around it twice before settling on a banister just outside of the Queen's room.

    The room is empty.

Well, rats in the belfry! Where is she? Orion huffs. She checks three more rooms before finding anyone. On her fourth try, she lands on the balcony of the Lunar Princess' bedroom. Heavy red curtains have been pulled shut.

Hello, calls Orion. Hello, is anyone in there?

Footsteps slam against the marble floor. The curtains are yanked back. It's the princess herself, standing there in all her night time glory!

Princess, coos Orion. I heard your mother's flutes. Tell me, is something the matter? Is there anything I can do?

"I don't know that there's anything anyone can do," says the princess. Her eyes are rimmed red. Her cheeks are still wet from crying.

    Orion asks, What's happened?

    "King Constellation has
