Quick Start Map
Though brief, this book still covers a lot of ground. I’m giving you publishing ideas, no matter where you are in your journey. Publishing has a lot of moving pieces, so you can easily bite off too much at once. The biggest reason for this is that new authors try and do everything all at once. Please don’ t do this!
None of the steps are extraordinarily difficult although they each require work. Many authors publish every day, so these steps are definitely doable. I recommend that you choose your desired course of action and take one step at a time until you have completed that step. Then take the next step. This will help you so that you don’t become stressed out and keep you moving toward your goal of holding your finished, published book in your hand.
Feel free to read through the entire book, but please don’t become overwhelmed. You can do this! Authors just like you do so every day.
Choose your publishing adventure!
The Sunday Drive: This is perfect for new authors publishing their first book. I recommend you start with Kindle Unlimited and a text-based book (see p. 20). Watch for this symbol throughout the book.

The Road Trip: This is perfect for a published author who wants to expand their reach or a new author who is willing to take a few more steps before they publish their book. I recommend you add a print version of your book through KDP. You may also be a children’s book author with an image-based book (see p. 21). Watch for this symbol throughout the book.

The Cross Country: This is the most complex journey. You can choose which pieces you want to do and when you want to do them. You don’t
