Who Is The Bride Of Christ - R. H.McGraw

    Preface

The key scripture for the ministry of this author is Hosea 4:6a My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. The body of Christ has received very much sermonizing on many topics with significant opinion and tradition mixed in with the pure Word of God. The traditional thoughts presented from pulpits of nearly every religious mindset have indeed rendered the Word of none effect (Mk.7:13) in the lives of many believers. Consequently, confusion, disagreements, and even church splits have resulted from such aforesaid faulty teaching and preaching. The intent of this book is to dispel much unscriptural teaching regarding the identity of the Bride of Christ.

The reader is urged not to jump to conclusions such that this author is perceived as some heretical writer when certain long-held and repeatedly taught concepts are challenged in the text. Rather, a careful review of the information presented herein will provide the basis for a profound paradigm shift in the thinking of many persons. As the goal of the believer should be to fulfil the role and plans already prepared for him or her (Eph. 2:10), the enemy knows that unbelief will derail the efforts of any individual in this regard. Thus, this book is not an attack on well-meaning people, but rather an assault on one major hindrance to spiritual growth in the body of Christ.

May the Lord richly bless you in your exploration of the information presented in the pages that follow.

A NECESSARY REVIEW OF SOME ENGLISH GRAMMAR

In order to adequately present the concepts intended in this book, a seemingly strange beginning is required so that the reader is prepared to follow the pattern of thoughts presented in the pages that follow. Specifically, a delineation of similes and metaphors and their occurrences in specific scriptures will be given. The importance of this initial information will become very obvious to the reader as the book

    progresses.

    Similes

A simile is a construct or figure of speech that compares two dissimilar things using the words like or as. The key word in this definition is compares. No effort is made therein to equate the two items being compared as identical to each other. Instead, the dichotomy of the two is merely related to each other at some one or more points. An example could be, His large feet required shoes like water skis. In this expression, the individual with the over-sized feet was obviously not walking around in his everyday life wearing water skis. Rather, the sheer dimensions and particularly the length of the shoes accommodating his feet would remind the casual observer of footgear from the sport of water skiing.

Another use of a simile is to delineate key characteristics or properties of two unrelated things in an attempt to compare their importance, their critical functions, etc. These aspects of the two unrelated entities need not be
