About this ebook

The Book of Enoch is an ancient text that many are convinced should be considered scripture. Some even claim the Book of Enoch was once in the Bible and advocate for its acceptance as God's inspired word. Are these advocates right? Is the Book of Enoch inspired scripture? Should the Book of Enoch be in the Bible? In The Bible vs. The Book of Enoch, we will compare teachings found in the Book of Enoch against teachings/doctrines found in the Bible to see if the two agree. The Bible vs. the Book of Enoch is designed to point out critical and alarming facts found in the Book of Enoch. The most important points that will be made in this book is to show why the Book of Enoch was never considered scripture because of its numerous contridictions against the Bible, and to also show that the Book of Enoch promotes a false Messiah figure, which makes the Book of Enoch an antichrist text.

The Bible vs. The Book of Enoch - Jim Garton

There are voices in the church that say the renewed interest and enthusiasm for the Book of Enoch is a positive sign, a blessing, and a return to truth. However, 1 Timothy 4:1 says, Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.  This book will show that the Book of  Enoch is full of unbiblical doctrines, elevates angels, and promotes a false Christ/Messiah.

    CHAPTER ONE: IN THE BEGINNING

How Were the Earth and Sea Created?

The Bible: By God and No Oath was Used.

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. Jeremiah 10:12 KJV (No Oath)

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Psalm 33:6 KJV (No Oath)

Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. Isaiah 48:13 KJV (No Oath)

When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth. Proverbs 8:29 KJV (No Oath)

If 1 Enoch sounds like Proverbs 8:29 it is because the writers of the 1 Enoch text likely plagiarized Proverbs 8:29 or Job 38:10-11.

The Book of Enoch: By an Oath

And these are the secrets of this oath. . . And they are strong through his oath: And the heaven was suspended before the world was created, And for ever. And through it [the oath] the earth was founded upon the water, And from the secret recesses of the mountains come beautiful waters, From the creation of the world and unto eternity. And through that oath the sea was created, And as its foundation He set for it the sand against the time of (its) anger, And it dare not pass beyond it from the creation of the world unto eternity. 1 Enoch 69:16-18 R.H. Charles

NOTE: God never used a secret oath to create the earth or heavens, as the Book of Enoch claims. This secret oath is treated like a magic word that an angel named Kasbeel, must protect. And the heavens (firmament) were not suspended before the earth was created, but after it (see: Genesis 1:6-8).

Did God Create the Sun and the Moon the Same Size?

The Bible: They Are Not the Same Size

And God made two great lights; the greater [larger] light to rule the day, and the lesser [smaller] light to rule the night: he made the stars also. Genesis 1:16 KJV

Greater light in Hebrew – גּדל גּדול (Large, Great).

Greater light in Greek (Genesis 1:16 in the Septuagint) – μέγαν (Mega, big, large).

The lesser light in Hebrew - קטן קטן is (smaller in size).

The lesser light is the Greek Septuagint  - ἐλάσσων (smaller).

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 1 Corinthians 15:41 KJV

The Bible says that the sun is greater (larger) than the moon. The Book of Enoch claims the sun and the moon are the same size (circumference), which is biblically and scientifically false.

The Book of Enoch: Yes! They Are the Same Size

As he rises, so he sets and decreases not, and rests not, but runs day and night, and his light is sevenfold brighter than that of the moon; but as regards size they are both equal. 1 Enoch 72:37 R.H. Charles

These are the two great luminaries: their circumference is like the circumference of the heaven, and the size of the circumference of both is alike. 1 Enoch 78:3 R.H. Charles

    Stretching the Firmament/Heavens

The Bible: God Stretched the Firmament

Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Psalm 104:2 KJV

I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. Isaiah 45:12 KJV

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. Genesis 1:6 KJV

Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out... Isaiah 42:5 KJV

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalm 19:1 KJV

    - Versus –

The Book of Enoch: Winds Stretch the Firmament

And I saw how the winds stretch out the vaults of heaven, and have their station between heaven and earth: these are the pillars of the heaven. 1 Enoch 18:3 R.H. Charles

The Book of Enoch claims the winds stretch out the heavens as
