About this ebook
Jim Garton has compiled substantial proof to demonstrate the Book of Enoch is not an inspired text and was never part of the biblical canon of mainstream Judaism or Christianity. Internal and external evidence will be presented that shatters every claim that Enoch authored or contributed to the Book of Enoch. Prophecies in the text will be revealed as failed predictions and dangerous messages. Popular church doctrines connected to the Book of Enoch will be uncovered and solid arguments will be presented against those same doctrines. A case will be built proving the Book of Enoch has nothing to do with Jesus, but instead, is promoting a false end-time Messiah. The Book of Enoch is a dangerous ancient text that should be avoided. Scholars, supporters, and religious leaders have elevated the Book of Enoch to a status it does not deserve, and this book will show you why. The Book of Enoch Debunked is a comprehensive resource that exposes the false teachings and delusions of the Book of Enoch and a guide to bring people back to the truths of the Bible.

Preface
Many Book of Enoch advocates are convinced Enoch of Genesis 5:19-24, wrote the Book of Enoch. They also believe the Book of Enoch was carried on Noah’s ark, survived Israel’s enslavement in Egypt, was taken in the wilderness, and survived the numerous wars, and captivity the nation of Israel experienced. However, all of this is beyond wishful thinking on the part of Book of Enoch proponents because their beliefs and understanding about the Book of Enoch are nothing more than sheer fantasy, like the Book of Enoch itself.
Surprisingly, people cannot see the internal evidence in the Book of Enoch that screams, I am a fake!
It is even more baffling that people think the Book of Enoch merits a place in the Bible or has equality with inspired text. What are these people thinking? Why can’t people see the glaring errors, lies, false teachings, and biblical contradictions that jump out at them from the Book of Enoch?
So, to help those who cannot discern the clear evidence that the Book of Enoch is a fraud, this book was developed to assist in highlighting that evidence. Hopefully, readers will see the dangers contained in the Book of Enoch and why every believer in Christ should steer away from it.
CHAPTER ONE
NAMING THINGS THAT DID NOT EXIST IN THE PRE-FLOOD WORLD
The Book of Enoch contains its own proof that it was not written during the pre-flood era and was not authored by Enoch of Genesis. The Book of Enoch contains people, places, and things that did not exist in the pre-flood age and could not have been known by Enoch. Therefore, internal evidence found in the Book of Enoch is the best tool to debunk the lies and claims associated with the text [1]
Mount Sinai
The first piece of evidence that proves the Book of Enoch is not a pre-flood book is found in the first chapter of the Book of Enoch.
The words of the blessing of Enoch...The Holy Great One will come forth from His dwelling, And the eternal God will tread upon the earth, even on Mount Sinai... And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones To execute judgement upon all, And to destroy all the ungodly... (1 Enoch 1:1,3-4 and 9)
How could a pre-flood Enoch have any knowledge of the post-flood mountain famously known as Mount Sinai? The answer is simple; the Book of Enoch is not a pre-flood book.
If one reads the entire first chapter of the Book of Enoch, they will notice a similarity with Psalms 68. The writer of chapter one in the Book of Enoch likely plagiarized from Psalm 68, which says:
"O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah: The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel...The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place... But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses." - Psalm 68:7-8,17,21 KJV
Mount Hermon
The Book of Enoch also mentions Mount Hermon, another post-flood mountain. The Book of Enoch says fallen angels literally stood on Mount Hermon, which supposedly occurred generations before the birth of Noah.
And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. (1 Enoch 6:6) [2]
Not only did these 200 fallen angels allegedly stand on Mount Herman, but the Book of Enoch claims the fallen angels gave the mountain its name, which is false. The Bible exposes that falsehood because Deuteronomy and Judges provide the history of the mountain’s name.
"And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon; (Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;)." - Deuteronomy 3:8-9 KJV
The Bible says Mount Herman was once known as Sirion
(Deuteronomy 3:9, 4:48) and Shenir (Deuteronomy 3:9, Song of Solomon 4:8), but it was also called Baal-Herman
(Lord-Herman). Mount Herman was given its name by the Canaanite people (Judges 3:3), not by pre-flood fallen angels, as the Book of Enoch claims.
It is also essential to understand that the surface of the earth went through cataclysmic change during the flood.[3] Therefore, it would be impossible for a pre-flood landmark like Mount Herman to be identified again after the global deluge. Even the Book of Enoch describes the earth sinking (65:1), Chasms filling with water, and new abysses opening (89:6-8) during the flood.
So, the claim in the Book of Enoch that pre-flood angels stood on Mount Herman and gave it its name is both geologically impossible and erroneous according to biblical history.
Erythraean Sea
A close up of a map Description automatically generatedFigure 1 Erythraean Sea
And thence I went over the summits of all these mountains, far towards the east of the earth, and passed above the Erythraean sea and went far from it, and passed over the angel Zotiel. (1 Enoch 32:2)
And the remaining four come forth on the side of the north to their own sea, two of them to the Erythraean Sea in the east. (1 Enoch 77:7)
The Erythraean Sea is the Greek name for the waters around the Arabian Peninsula and what is now called the Indian Ocean. Enoch from Genesis (pre-flood) would not have known the Greek name for this body of water.
The Waters and Land of Dan
And I went off and sat down at the waters of Dan, in the land of Dan, to the south of the west of Hermon: I read their petition till I fell asleep. (1 Enoch 13:7)
The Book of Enoch claims Enoch of Genesis (pre-flood) sat down at the waters of Dan in the land of Dan (post-flood), which is impossible.
Dan is a tribe of Israel, and the waters and land of Dan is the territory the tribe of Dan occupied. The Book of Enoch describes tribal lands of Dan associated with a later migration of the tribe that even Moses would not have known about. However, the Book of Enoch writers wanted readers to believe Enoch knew about this land and sat in this tribal territory.
The tribe of Dan was initially given land near the Philistines and the Tribe of Judah by Joshua (Joshua 19:40-48). The tribe later gave up that region and moved to the North of Israel near Mount Hermon (Judges 18). This migration of the tribe to the north is not only post-flood, but it is also post-Moses and post the Joshua era.
A writer living after the tribal move of Dan to the north (after 1350 B.C.) had to write that portion of the Book of Enoch. No way did Moses, Noah, or anyone pre-flood write that portion of the text.
Parthians and Medes
And in those days the angels shall return and hurl themselves to the east upon the Parthians and Medes: They shall stir up the kings, so that a spirit of unrest shall come upon them, and they shall rouse them from their thrones, That they may break forth as lions from their lairs, And as hungry wolves among their flocks. (1 Enoch 56:5)
The Parthians and Medes (post-flood people), would not have been known by the pre-flood Enoch. Japheth had a son born after the flood, named Madai (Genesis 10:2). Madai was the forefather of the people that would eventually be called the Medes. Therefore, Enoch could not have written about the Medes.
The same is true about the Parthian empire, which did not exist until 247 B.C.—just a few hundred years before Christ. The Parthians defeated the Roman Army in the Battle of Carrhae (53 B.C.). The Parthian Empire was one of Rome's biggest rivals in the East. This is strong evidence that the Book of Enoch had to be written after 247 B.C. or even later. The Book of Enoch is not as ancient as people think it is.
Lebanon
Abelsjail, which is between Lebanon and Seneser... (1 Enoch 13:10).
Lebanon is mentioned several times in the Bible, but Enoch of Genesis would not have known it because Lebanon did not exist until after the flood.
Chapter Summary
It is impossible for anyone living in the pre-flood era to have known about Mount Sinai, Mount Hermon, the Erythraean Sea, The Waters and Land of Dan, the Parthians, Medes, and Lebanon.
Advocates for the Book of Enoch cannot explain away the mention of these post-flood people and locations as advanced prophetic knowledge. The context of the Book of Enoch does not support that excuse. Nor can anyone blame scribes or editors for replacing ancient names and places with a more modern title. There is no basis, reason, or evidence to support that claim either.
The Book of Enoch claims to be the work of Enoch of Genesis and written before the flood, but those claims are a lie! The six pieces of internal evidence discussed in this chapter should be enough proof to confirm Enoch did not write the Book of Enoch.
True believers in Christ need to avoid getting caught up in the false teachings, hype, and unsupported claims promoted by enthusiastic supporters of the Book of Enoch. These supporters have turned away from the truth and went to a book full of lies and fables.
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Timothy 4:4 KJV
CHAPTER TWO
RIDICULOUS CLAIMS FOUND IN
THE BOOK OF ENOCH
In this chapter, we will look at the ridiculous claims and myths mentioned in the Book of Enoch. Once again, the Book of Enoch testifies against itself and proves it cannot be divinely inspired because of the sheer silliness and absurdity that fills the text. Things in the Book of Enoch are so silly it would be blasphemous to claim they originated from the mind of God.
If someone walks away after reading this chapter and continues to believe the Book of Enoch is an inspired revelation, that person is willfully ignorant.
Get ready to read some of the weird, ridiculous, and absurd claims contained in the Book of Enoch.
4,500 Foot Giants
The wives of the fallen angels became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells... (1 Enoch 7:2)
The ell
was 5 to 6 handbreadths or about 18 inches (one cubit).[4]
So, 3,000 ells would make the height of the giants 4,500 feet tall, which is not only impossible but ridiculous to think that numerous 4,500-foot creatures were walking around the pre-flood world.

A person posing for the camera Description automatically generatedFigure 2 Graphic showing the size of the Book of Enoch giants compared to known structures.
What size would their house have to be? How could human women give birth to creatures that would reach this height? What size was a 4,500-foot giant when he was a baby? To reach 4,500-feet by age 18, a one-year-old giant would have to grow at least 264 feet or more per year. How would a human mother feed a child of that size? I hope people can see how ludicrous it is for the Book of Enoch to make this claim.
