Corrupted truths are exposed when the original manuscript of the bible which is the Codex Sinaiticus were altered by unscrupulous persons who translated the bible in their own knowledge to accomplish their wishes to fit their thoughts by altering and replacing the significant words to persuade their followers and make them believe that their teachings are existing in the bible when in fact theirs are all lies when construed using the original context of the Codex which is kept for centuries at St. Carmel Monastery at the foot of Mt. Sinai, Egypt. The details of the altered words and verses that testify it are revealed in the book, Deciphering the Biblical Verses of Codex Sinaiticus.

Introduction

Origin of Codex Sinaiticus

Codex Sinaiticus literally means the Sinai Book. It is a compilation of the Old and New Testaments which were translated into finished book called the Bible. From the word Sinaiticus it was derived from the fact that the book was preserved for many centuries at St. Catherine Monastery at the foot of Mt. Sinai in Egypt. Who wrote the manuscript of the bible?

God first spoke to our ancestors through his prophets to write the bible. Hebrew 1:1 says, In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways.. Isaiah 30:8 says, Go now, write it on a tablet for them, inscribe it on a scroll, that for the days to come it may be an everlasting witness. It is clearly stated in the aforementioned verses that God commanded the prophets to write it initially on the tablet of stone and later on the scroll.

While the manuscript of the bible has been translated in many languages today it is necessary that a teacher should derive his teachings from the verses provided therein. Many professed teachers, evangelists or pastors of the bible do not even ascertain the thought of their messages if they are derived from the bible or they just want to say what they want as their listeners are just listening from their mistakes. In this instance the bible in John 7:17 is true in saying, If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. Therefore, followers should be aware of false teachers that you may not be deceived, otherwise you will fall into the pit with your teacher. As cited in Matthew 15:14 which says, If the blind guides lead the blind, both will fall into the pit."

The Codex contains the remains of all the Christian scriptures of the Old and New Testaments together with the first-century Christian texts of the Shepherd of Hermas and the Epistle of Barnabas . The book contains 1,460 pages and measures 41cm tall and 36 cm wide. In 1844, a German scholar, Constantin von Tiscendorf who appreciated much the antiquity of the book visited the monastery and managed to take with him forty-three folios of the codex which are preserved today in the University of Leipzig.

In his subsequent visit in 1859, he asked that the codex be sent to Cairo for transcription and publication. Tiscendorf realized the complexity of the text so he asked that the manuscript be taken to Russia and made a printed edition on hand. He promised that the manuscript would be returned but unfortunately, the Russian government kept it, and sold it to England in 1933 for 100,000 Pounds which is a huge amount at that time. The manuscript is now a great treasure of the British government. The Russian government retains eight fragments of the manuscript which are now in the University Library In St. Petersburg.

When questioned about the fate of the manuscript Tiscendorf opined that the monks were on the verge of burning the manuscript so he decided to keep it with him for preservation. The monastery laments the loss of the manuscript as it has always protected the manuscript and the monastery from slander.

Controversial Issues Confronting the Bible

Alteration of the Original name of God in the bible

Modern day scholars have identified four scribes who were responsible for translating the text into Greek language, however their names were never known for their distinguished handwriting, painstaking analysis, spelling and methods of marking the end of each bible were given recognition for the manuscript.

Many churches today apparently print their own bible for their own use which there are alterations to suit their needs that members could embrace with. An instance of alteration and replacement of words made by their own scribe can be read in Acts 20:28 which says," Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God,[a] which he bought with his own blood."

The above-mentioned underlined word church of God has been replaced by church of Christ and can be read in their bible to assert that it is the name of church that the Lord founded and redeemed by his blood when in fact in the original manuscript it is not but the church of God which they changed by the name of their church.

Another anomaly in the bible that unscrupulous elements have altered is the name Jehovah which they inserted and replaced the original name of Father God and YHWH by the name Jehovah or Yahweh which both names do not appear or cannot be read in the original manuscript.

YHWY is the original name of God written in the manuscript but later versions of printed bible show the name Yahweh with vowels a ,e inserted in between YHWH .Yahweh, the name for the God of the Israelites, representing the biblical pronunciation, YHWH, the Hebrew name revealed to Moses in the book of Exodus. The name YHWH , consisting of the sequence of consonants, Yod, Heh, Waw, and Heh is known as the tetragrammaton.

In the same way, a certain church group interpreted the name YHWH as JHVH when inserted with vowels in between letters with e, o, a , it can be read as Jehovah. Therefore, the formed name will exactly fit their standard in giving name for their God. Just think and imagine that the original manuscript was written thousands of years ago before all other churches which changed its context have gone out of this world.

This church based in the US was only founded in 1872 by an American Christian Pastor and Zionist. There are many Christian churches that appeared today declaring that their belief is based on what the bible teaches. When in fact far from what the bible teaches..

Why do they need to alter the name of God ?

What is the real name of God written in the bible?

The book of Isaiah says, But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us, you, LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name. It’s very clear, the name of God is Father. Also in John17:5 says, ‘And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.’. The are many verse in the bible that call God as Father.

Let us check another verse to authenticate our claim. Romans 8:15 says,  The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, Abba,[b] Father.

See, the verse also call God as Abba or Father. A universal church also has an altered bible bearing the name Yahweh. Why do those later versions of the bible show different names when in the manuscript it is Father.?

Aren’t these acts a continuous sin that have been leading their members and the public to confusion ? In due time they will receive their part in Revelation 22:18 which say, I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. ¹⁹ And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

In other words in due time they will get punished and receive the plague cited in the verse. During the production of the manuscript each scribe wrote and corrected his own work while others wrote and corrected by the other their work. These corrections contain many significant alterations, and further extensive alterations and corrections were probably made during the seventh century are some of the interesting features of the manuscript.

But the main problem today is the multiple versions of the bible with many alterations that unscrupulous elements have done for their own interests or aspirations. Until the advent and onward of the 20th century many false churches emerged with different versions and far from the original manuscript and again the bible warns in Proverbs 30:6 which says, Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

The Danger of Alterations

The bible says in 2 Timothy3:16, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work. The problem with other churches is that they establish their own bible with plenty of alterations to fit their own desire so that their members would really adhere and embrace their principles and requirements. Hence, their principle is no longer based on the principle of the original teachings of the bible but by the norms of men.

Before the bible was finally finished there had been so many errors in spelling and revisions were needed to correct them. In 1604 the King James version of the Christian bible was translated with a number of revisions due to printers’ errors, and In 1611 by the sponsorship of King James V1 and I of England the King James Bible version was published for the Church if England.

Modern day church-goers and preachers began to study the contextual messages of the Christian bible but with many errors that were over looked by the bible scholars, hence caused by the hands of unscrupulous persons who tried to influence it with their own principles.

The bible warns those unscrupulous elements or aspirants who alter the word in the bible that in the right time they shall be punished as cited in Revelation 22:18-19 testify to everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book; if anyone adds to them God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book…

Therefore, there is a need to carefully study each written verse to avoid deception. In the advent of modern-day church worship preachers and church members are delighted by biblical verses edifying their claim for spiritual revival that is done by the process of stimulating songs, crying and shouting for joy as they believe they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Groups such as Christian fundamentalists and those who have become fanatics by their belief boldly claim and cite verses in Acts 2: 2-5…that they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."

And thus, they follow the same pattern and scenario today. Many of these believers still speak in tongues that not even themselves understand. If we will construe the word and correct the mistake of these believers, speaking in tongues no longer exist today.

Early believers who were filled with the Holy Spirit were able to speak in tongues through the power of the Holy Spirit. They spoke other languages of other nations in which those nation also spoke the languages not their own. The bible tells that when you speak in tongues make sure that it is being understood by others, otherwise, keep silent in the church or let someone interpret at a time -1Cor 14:27-28.

The bible tells us to stop or abandon those elementary teachings and move forward to maturity- Hebrew 6:1-2. Another instance that danger is ahead of those who have learned wrong teachings through the effort of false teachers is their adherence to the bible verse in Mark 16: 17-20 which say, you will drive out demons, you shall speak other tongues and they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing and it shall not hurt them." In many occasions those who took up serpents were killed during their church services while some groups who believed their teachers took poison and died.

There are a number of cases that cult groups make a ritualistic ceremony to show that they have power to defy harm as they claim it from said verses. This is a clear case of mass murder in Jonestown, Guyana in South America when Jim Jones with his cult followers took poison believing they would not die but yet died.

For your information Mark 16:9-20 are not written in the original manuscript, and therefore it should not be followed nor obeyed. The problem is that those verses were illicitly added by perpetrators until its publications. Scribes later on noticed and deleted such errors. However, succeeding copies in the publication carried the errors that teachers teach their members. The bible sternly warns us that if a blind leads the blind, both will fall into a pit." -Matthew 15:14.

Boldly holding a serpent is a precarious attempt to show others that such verses quoted in the bible won’t harm them. It is a 50-50 chances that one gets bitten by the serpent, likewise they would show that they can drink poisonous substance which won’t harm them but the end is catastrophe.

You should be aware of what your teacher is teaching you or who knows he is already leading you to that same pit. The bible also teaches us to be wise enough to avoid evil men or leader. To be inquisitive about the law of God is a good sign you want to learn about the word. Thus, salvation is always behind you when you remain in the word of God -1Cor 15:2 Ask your teacher about the law –(Haggai 2:11) to know if he is not lying or if he knows the laws of Christ.

From the queries you cast into your preacher about the law is like a child asking too many sensible questions to know the real answer. Of course, every relevant and pertinent questions must be answered by the bible with corresponding bible verses. Otherwise, if a preacher answers your questions with so many flowery words without bible verses are impliedly guessing and deceiving you. These pastors only want your tithings and offerings, but do not care about your salvation.

The bible calls them greedy dogs " Yes, they are greedy dogs which never have enough. And they are shepherds Who cannot understand. They all look to their own way. Everyone for his own gain… Isaiah 56:11. In addition, since they are paid pastors they have no compassion to his flock. When the wolf attacks he escapes leaving his flock scattering as he is just a paid pastor- John 10:12

It is one of the reasons why the early church was dispersed in the wilderness after the Patriarchs died. After the leadership of Joshua and the faithful, greedy and false church leaders led Israel into dissemination finding their own way of worship in the wilderness. They were neglected as they scattered in other lands -Ezekiel 34:2-5

Today, many churches and religions have gone out of this world claiming that they are the true and anointed one that can heal the sick and receive miracles from their church when in fact they have different motives for founding their own. The bible as something to say about those founders and pastors who seek to establish their own. Romans 10:3 says," For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God."

See these people do not really submit to God’s will but their own desire in order obtain what they really want. In other words, they speak what they want to gain belief of others. This is what the bible tells in John 7:17 which says," Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

Apparently, it’s all about gain for money or profit while many false prophets have gone out to deceive many. The bible exquisitely cites the factual verses that there is only one true church that God and the Lord Jesus Christ founded. We should know that the Patriarchs of Israel starting from Moses led the first born of Israel in the wilderness where the first congregation of the firstborn of Israel that worshipped the Lord God began.

Acts 7:37-38 say, "This is the Moses who told the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your own people.’[a] ³⁸ He was in the assembly in the wilderness, with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors; and he received living words to pass on to us Therefore Israel is the firstborn as cited in Exodus 4:22,

While Hebrew 12:23 says.. to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to the church of the firstborn… It is a significant verse that ascertains salvation for the members of the church of the Firstborn and the church itself are already written in heaven.

The bible tells us that there is only one true church that the Lord God has established, according to Psalm 127:1 which says. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain…. And therefore, those churches that were founded by men are all in vain while they also worship in vain according to Mark 7:7. Matthew16:18 says" And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’ Who is the rock being referred to in this line?

1Corinthians 3:11 says, ‘For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ." It is the Lord who is called the rock. He is the builder of the church which was lost and scattered when the successors of the Patriarchs neglected them. And therefore, Jesus has come to rebuild and gather what was lost. And it is the church of God that the Lord would rebuild according to the confirmation in Amos 9:11 which says," In that day I will restore David’s fallen shelter— I will repair its broken walls and restore its ruins— and will rebuild it as it used to be,"

Because something has fallen therefore, something has to be re-built. And that is exactly the church of God that was known since the time of the Lord Jesus Christ. It was formerly the church of the Firstborn in the wilderness that scattered in the face of the earth because of corrupt teachers who led them to destruction. Micah 3:11, says, Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they look for the LORD’s support and say, Is not the LORD among us? No disaster will come upon us."

And the reason why Jesus was sent to earth and rebuilt his church was to gather the lost sheep of Israel or gather those who were members of the church in the wilderness that were dispersed because of false teachers who neglected them. John 11:52, says," and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one." However, it is not only the Israelites that would be gathered today into one church which is the church of God but also the Gentiles that all may be saved. Ephesians 1:10 says, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

And what is the name of the church that the Lord Jesus Christ built or founded? According to 1Tim.3:15 But I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth. It’s very clear in the verse, the church of God. The name of the church of God is mentioned in the bible more than eight times. It is also the church where all believers should join of cleave with. Love must be sincere, hate what is evil, cleave to that which is good-Romans 12:9. And what is that which is good to cleave with? It’s no other than the church of God.

Another verse in the bible that proves that the church of God is the real and genuine church that was founded by God where believers should be part of can be read in Acts 20:28 which says Take heed to yourself and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God which he obtained with the blood of his own Son. Be informed that the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ is the owner of the church of God- Hebrew 3:4 says, -For every house is built by someone but God is the builder of everything.

What do you think of your church now? Is it founded by God or by mere men? Or do you worship in vain? It appears now that since your church is founded by men, the Lord Jesus Christ is not the head of your church but men. Ephesians 5:23 says, For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. That is the biblical truth that everyone must think and decide for the good of yourself and loved ones if you obey the word of God. You are bound to choose upon knowing the truth because the bible says, you should not only be hearers of the word but you should also be doers . As cited in James 1: 22-23 " But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror

Doubts among unbelievers especially the fanatics or atheists are inevitable unless proven otherwise. Not only atheists but millions of people who belong to man-made churches which comprise more than half of the world’s population and to mention some are Buddhism, Taoism, Shintoism, Zoroasterianism, Hinduism that believe their founders are holy Gods but have not risen from the grave unlike the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of lords, and King of kings who died and rose from the grave shall return with his risen saints to rule the earth in the near future. Here are the biblical verses proving that Jesus is God.

And because men have many Gods there is only one God who judges that we should worship and believe. This is asserted in Psalm 82:1 saying," standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods."

If you are looking for some insight from the Codex Sinaiticus itself, this is not the book for that. The author gives a short intro about what the Codex Sinaiticus is and then spends the rest of the book giving his own interpretation of scripture and pointing out why others are wrong. He doesn't cite the Codex Sinaiticus at all. His bibliography consists of KJV, NIV, Google Search and Wikipedia.
