INTRODUCTION

This is the story of Jamie Forrest, a rich businessman who is still trying to find his footing in the chaotic world of wealth, passion, and bad behavior. CHAPTER ONE: JAMIE

It was another dull Saturday evening in the city when I finally dragged myself off the couch in my penthouse suite, wrapping my naked body in a robe before heading to the bar to fix myself another glass of whiskey. I felt an excruciating headache coming on, but I knew it was nothing another drink couldn’t fix. It had been another wild night. Glancing around at my now empty suite, I noticed the trail of little lacy fabric decorating my ivory couch. I smiled, remembering fragments of the night prior and letting loose the way my father hated, but it was the only way I felt like I was in control. I had been on a downward spiral for some time because the more I tried to involve myself in the family business, learning the ropes from the CEO himself, the more disappointed my father seemed to be in me.

I was good at drowning the sorrow with expensive liquor and beautiful women, but even I knew that all of that would soon come to an end if I didn’t get my act together. My father had been threatening to take everything away from me and push me out on my own so that I could learn a lesson about what it’s like to claw my way to the top, but I called his bluff every time. Though, the more time we spent together these days, the more I began to think that maybe there was truth to what he has been holding over my head. I still had no idea if I was even capable of stepping into his shoes, enjoying the life of owning things, working insane hours, and having nothing to look forward to except an influx of cash.
