    Billionaires Attraction - Tilly Muir

    One

IN EVERY LIVING THING there is the desire for love. - D. H. Lawrence

Ashley Patterson loved visiting this lake. They hiked for twenty minutes, mostly uphill, but the views that greeted their arrival made the trek so worthwhile.

Oh Ashley, Can I lay down now. I need some oxygen? said Taylor.

How come you are so out of shape, we used to run up to this place all the time when we were kids. Ashley smiled her mind drifting back to the carefree days of her youth.

Yeah, well living in the city for the past three years I've kind of got out of touch with all this fresh air and stuff.

I am so going to miss this, my favorite place in the whole wide world. Ashley stretched her arms out to the sides and turned full circle drinking in the beauty all around her. Take these beautiful trees Taylor, they are being robbed of their uniform green leaves only to be replaced by vibrant reds, yellows and orange. Isn't this amazing?

Yeah, Yeah, I guess they look kind of nice

Ashley dropped down beside her lightly punching her on the arm. How can you not be moved by such a beautiful sight?

Show me a beautiful toned male body and I'll show you how moved I can be. Taylor sat up, her brows arched mischievously. Did I tell you about Matt, now he could be the one.

Oh no, not another one, I don't believe you? Last time we talked, which was only a week ago, his name was Greg!

Well, you must always be on the lookout, because you never know when Mr. Right will show up. Taylor grabbed Ashley's hand her eyes wide with shock. Wait a minute, you said you’re going to miss this place, where are you going and why is this news to me, we’ve been best friends forever, we talk about everything, Taylor demanded.

Calm down, that is why I asked you to come up here this weekend. I want to talk things through with you, I can't go on like this. Tears welled up in Ash's large hazel eyes and threatened to escape.

Oh sweetie, come here. Taylor wrapped her arm around Ashley and pushed a lock of her dark blond hair away from her face. In an attempt to lighten the atmosphere, she said, Your hair is in escape mode again.

Ashley's hair was always a source of amusement for them, so long, thick and wavy, with a mind of its own. Whenever she tied it up, bits always managed to work loose.

The beginning of a smile tipped the corners of her mouth as she inhaled deeply. OK, I am going to tell you what I'm thinking, a brain dump of everything flying around in my mind and driving me crazy.

    Spill Ash.

You know me, I love life, I like meeting people, having fun and helping out where I can, but living here is stifling me. The thought of staying in this town when I finish college next year is not an option. I can’t stand the looks of pity I still get. She let out a sigh. The incident with Cody happened five years ago and people continue to treat me like I should be wrapped in cotton wool. This is never going to change. Her voice sounded strained and far away.

Taylor put a hand on Ash's shoulder, her fingers giving a gentle squeeze. That's the problem with living in a small town everybody knows your business. I couldn't wait to leave after high school. She scooted round so she sat opposite Ash her eyes coming up to study her face. But Ash, what about your dreams, moving away from your home town was not in them.

Ash bit her lip and momentarily closed her eyelids. Well, Cody demolished my dream so I now need a plan B. If I stay around here everybody will expect me to marry Zach and live happy ever after and... Zach is a NICE guy, but...

You just hit the nail right on the head Ash - NICE is not a word you should use to describe the love of your life... Passionate, loving, caring, sexy, hot, hero, amazing, but never nice...

She stared at Taylor with amused wonder. Wow, I can't think of any guys in town to describe like that. I definitely need to move on.

Don't keep me waiting here, what is plan B.

It's not all worked out yet, but I want to finish my degree next year, my marks are good, so hoping I will be able to find a marketing position in the City after graduation. She said the words hesitatingly as if testing the idea.

Taylor clapped her hands together, her eyes bright with excitement. You mean my City, this is fantastic, you can come and live with me.

What about Fay, your apartment is only two bedrooms?

She finishes college next year and is moving back home, the timing is perfect - this is meant to be. Jumping up Taylor dragged Ash with her and swung her around. You are going to love living in the city, the guys are hot!

I am not moving to the City to find hot guys. I need a career to earn me a lot of money so I can take care of myself. Her eyes darkened. Guys only want one thing from you which is nothing to do with love.

Strolling down to the lakeside Taylor wrapped her arm around Ash's shoulder. You should not judge every guy to be the same as Cody, it’s not fair on them, you have to give them a chance.

I guess you are right, I should not judge people so easily, she said, circling her arm around Taylor's waist. It's going to be so much fun sharing together, I can't wait for next year.

I think we should go back down and hit the tavern to celebrate, I'm getting dizzy up here. Taylor staggered.

You go on down; I need a couple of minutes here. Pulling apart from Taylor she poked her finger in Taylor's shoulder. The first round is on you; I'll have my usual.

Taylor waved her fingers in the air as she started down the track. Don't be too long or your drink will be gone, it's thirsty business all this hiking.

Ashley picked up a pebble and tried to skim it across the lake, two skips and it sank from trace as usual. Her heart ached at the thought of telling her family, she was going to be moving away. They were so close and she couldn't have gotten through the last few years without their support.

She was so lucky, if it had been Taylor in her shoes her family would have kicked her out of her home. Taylor’s parents had never had much time for her. She had blossomed since living in the city. Her sexy voice had made her a good career as a voice over artist, but, also helped to attract lots of guys.

Ash was a bit concerned about the amount of boyfriends she seemed to get through, and hoped she didn't expect her to keep up. She did not have a lot of experience with boyfriends thanks to Cody.

It's funny how your dream of so many years can disappear overnight and move out of your reach. Five years was long enough to feel sorry for herself, now she needed to get on with her life.

Ashley made her way back to the Tavern happy with her decision to move on with her life, it was going to be interesting living with Taylor!

HERE, AT LAST, WHAT took you so long, I drank your vodka. Turning to the barman Taylor said, Another two vodkas Dan, my friend here needs a drink.

Hey Ash, you OK, you shouldn't be walking around those trails on your own. Dan placed the Vodkas on the bar and put his hands on his hips to enforce the message.

I'm fine Dan, I know those trails backwards, you don't need to worry about me. She picked up the glasses and turned to Taylor her eyebrows raised. Let's go sit at the table by the window.

Taylor scooted across the seat and settled herself facing the bar. Patting the seat next to her, she said, Come sit here Ash we need to do some crowd analysis, thank God for the tourists, it would be pretty dull if there were only locals in here! She lowered her tone. Don’t be hard on Dan, everybody cares about you Ash.

"This is exactly why I need to get away, it drives me nuts everyone watching my back all the
