A Primer for FAP-19

FAP-19 (feminizing age progression) is a virus that affects males between the ages of eighteen and thirty, with contraction likelihood inversely proportional to age. The primary symptom is a metamorphosis into an older woman. This process is broken up into two stages.

Stage 1 is a sex change, typically completed between six to ten days after infection. During this week-long period, the virus activates female puberty in the host male, triggering the secondary sex characteristics inherent to a genetic female: breast development, hip enlargement, buttocks expansion, voice change, as well as complete sexual reassignment. Excluding the pelvis, the skeleton remains unaltered. An unrelated side effect, scalp hair growth is also accelerated during this time-frame. Although outwardly female, men infected with FAP-19 are not fertile. They do not develop the internal reproductive system, and their vaginal canal is closed off from their abdominal cavity. This is believed to be due to a lack of usable tissue for the womb. Studies are still under way.

Stage 2 is maturation, occurring in the month or two following the sex change. There is no predictive method to determine a victim’s peak age. Some males may remain in their twenties; others may acquire the appearance of a post-menopause woman in her mid-fifties. No victim of FAP-19 has been documented to reach an age older than fifty-eight years old. During this prolonged period, a male’s hormonal level is constantly in flux, disrupting metabolism and energy levels. It is not uncommon for a victim to gain weight during their maturation, which is primarily distributed to their hips, buttocks, and breasts. Strict dieting is recommended.

Between ninety to a hundred days after infection, a victim sees their appearance return to normal. This event is stressful on the body. Additional rest is recommended. Rarely, some victims may not undergo a full reversal. Surgery is commonly sought to remedy this.

Although myths claim that sexual orientation may be altered by the FAP-19 virus, there is no evidence to any mental changes as a result of infection.

Phenotype Shift is a rare side effect of the FAP-19 virus, observed when a host’s regressive genetic trait is turned dominant. Such examples of this phenomenon include hair color, hair texture, eye color, earlobes, freckles, alterations to the hairline, colorblindness, and more. Phenotype shifts are permanent, and will endure even after the host has recovered from the virus.

Ancestral Shift is an even rarer side effect of the FAP-19 virus, observed when a host’s race changes to that of a different-race ancestor. For example, the Hispanic descendant of an Hispanic father and a Caucasian mother has an unlikely chance to turn Caucasian. This phenomenon has been observed if a mixed-race parentage exists three or less generations back in the host’s family tree. As with a phenotype shift, an ancestral shift is permanent.
