About this ebook

Darkness sleeps below the surface...

Jim never thought he'd return to the house overlooking the lake that had taken his wife.  He never thought he would have to revisit the memories of their last days together.  Unfortunately, houses and memories can't remain abandon forever, both need to be dealt with eventually.

But something waits beyond the painful memories of the house and beneath the smooth surface of the water; something born of love, but corrupted by darkness.  Something that has waited patiently for Jim's return.

He talked to Ralph no more than three times a year, to ask if there were any problems or any additional checks he needed to write for maintenance, but that was all. Ralph would answer the questions and let him know how everything was holding up. He never asked when Jim would be passing up this way again or ask him the dreaded question everyone else asked; how are you doing? With the emphasis on doing.
