I loved what I called mornings. Actually, my morning was what most people call noon, but I’m far from most people.

Besides, being dead brought all sorts of privileges.

Right around noon I usually managed to stumble naked to the kitchen, get a cup of coffee from the pot my wonderful Sim, roommate and partner, had started before she left.

Every day I would take a sip, sigh heavily, then stagger with the cup back to the bathroom trying my best to not spill anything, even though it would never make a mess for long on the tile since it was ghost coffee.

By the time I got done in the bathroom and with that first cup of coffee, I was almost human.

    Almost.

At least I could be talked to safely at that point.

Since being dead, I had taken to wearing mostly comfortable clothes. Expensive silk blouses, sports bra, jeans that fit my frame, as Sim said, like a stretch glove, and running shoes.

Sim and I put on our get screwed dresses once
