They learned something that they did not want to face. They didn't know whether to be surprised or upset. Introduction

I thought that Demetrius and I would have time to live a normal life for a while, as it turns out we didn't. It seemed like no sooner than we stopped the felans they came back. I had a vision of the future.

The vision had me scared, it showed me that Jesiah wanted Demetrius and I's baby. He made me have the baby at an astronomical rate. I found out the reason for it, was the baby made them stronger because he was born with powers of his own.

So Demetrius, me, Moreen, and Jacob were right back where we started. Dealing with the very thing that made me cringe more than anything in this world. Things became weird with Demetrius and I. We became more powerful after certain things happened to us.

Things changed with Jacob and Moreen for the worse and Demetrius and I could not help them. It was too late, Jacob made his choice and we couldn't change that. Moreen came to the realization that she lost him for good.

There was more that we learned while trying to rid this town of Jesiah. Something that we did not want to face, so we blocked it from our minds completely. I don't know if we were surprised to find out or upset.

What I did know is there was hope for Demetrius and I to live a peaceful happy life once we stopped Jesiah again. I wanted this more than anything in the world. I wanted to be normal again, I wanted to have a normal life with the only people that were left in it.

We knew that he would return, we just didn't know when, and how long it would take him. One thing we were sure of is that we would always help the people in this town. We had help and I believe it is only fair that I am here for them whenever they need me.

Chapter 1

Demetrius stared at me strangely, What do you mean they want our baby?

I was still crying, This vision, it wasn't a flashback. It was a glimpse at the future.

What did you see Corine? He asked with concern.

We had a baby, and the felans came and took him or her from us.

How do you know it's just not the stress that you have been under?

Demetrius, since when have my visions been due to stress? They are coming back and they will be stronger.

So what do we do? I mean, how do we defeat them again? Jacob asked.

I'm not sure Jacob. For now, we have to watch ourselves. We all have to be very careful. Do you guys understand me?

Yes, we do, Moreen answered.

I looked at Dante and Star and said. You two need to leave this town as soon as possible. You can't help us anymore, the further away you are the better.

But we can't leave you guys, Star said.

Look, mom, you know that you have no powers. It would be better for you guys to leave. Demetrius said.

Demetrius is right Star, I think that we should go. These kids are strong they'll be okay. Dante said.

I don't like this idea, but fine we can go in the morning.

Thank you. I will feel much better knowing that you guys are not in any harm. I said to Star. Can you guys give me and Demetrius some time alone?

Once they were gone I looked at Demetrius, Do you think that we should get married right now with this new information?

What? Are you serious? Corine, I love you, and we are still getting married. He said surprised.

Are you sure about this. I mean you know that I love you, but I don't want anything to happen to our baby if we have one.

I am sure. We can hold off on a baby for awhile. Wait and see what happens.

Okay, Demetrius. Would you mind giving me a little time alone?

No that's fine. Whatever you need.

He hugged me and kissed me on the forehead and joined the others downstairs. I sat in bed with a pillow over my lap thinking. What are we going to do?

I knew that they were coming back. Kira and Cara both told us, but I thought that it would be years. Long enough for our baby to grow and help us fight. According to my vision, they will be here to steal the baby.

What happens if we get pregnant unexpectedly? Even if we try not to. How will we protect the baby? They are going to come back with amazing powers, powers beyond our capabilities.

What do we do? Will we get more help from the spirits or will we have to try to defeat them on our own? Right now I am the most confused that I have ever been. I have no idea what we are going to do.

The more I thought about it, the more nervous I got. We know how strong they were before. Now they are going to be stronger. We have no idea what is in store for us. I can only hope that we are as strong or even stronger than we were.

I'm scared for all us. And, I have no idea what to do. Should we just run? Let the people here deal with it themselves.

Then I thought, no we can't do that. They will follow us and we will put more people in danger.

I heard a soft knock on the door, Who is it? I asked.

It's me. Can I come in? Demetrius' voice answered.

Sure, you can come in.

So, what's up? He asked right away.

I was thinking about our situation. What happens if we end up having a baby unexpectedly? What do we do then?

We'll be okay, Corine. We're all strong we proved it once and we can prove it again.

I just hope that you're right.

I'm right. Calm down, relax, everything will be fine. Let's go eat.

I sat at the table holding onto Demetrius.

Are you okay Corine? Moreen asked.

I'm fine. Just thinking about my vision.

Are you sure that it's not just the stress like Demetrius suggested? She mentioned.

Yes, I'm sure, Moreen. My visions are always correct.

Well, then we will just have to deal with it if it comes. Stop worrying yourself sick over it right now.

You're right, Moreen. It doesn't make it any better worrying about it.

We sat quietly eating. We all cleaned up and played some games the rest of the day. When night fell I excused myself and headed to bed. Demetrius followed.

Can you hold me? I asked him quietly.

Sure, Corine anything that you want.

Thank you. I'm scared for us this time, Demetrius. I hope that we can stop them this time around.

Just get some sleep, take your mind off of it for now.

Okay.

It took awhile for me to fall asleep. When I woke in the morning Demetrius was up already, Star and Dante were packing to leave.

Morning guys. How is everyone today? I asked.

We're good. Dante and I just finished packing the rest of our things. We are going to be heading out soon. Star said.

That's great, at least I know that you will be safe.

Get off it already, Corine. We don't know if or when they are coming back. Demetrius said rudely.

I was surprised at the tone of his voice, What's wrong, Demetrius? You have never talked to me like this.

Nothing, I'm sorry. He walked out to the porch.

He's been like this all morning. To all of us. There is something wrong with him. Jacob mentioned.

Alright, I'll try to talk to him.

Joining him on the porch, he didn't even look at me, Demetrius, look at me please. I said softly.

Turning his head slowly he stared at me intensely with those turquoise eyes and asked, What, Corine?

Jacob said that you have been like this all morning. It's not like you. Is there something going on?

I'm sorry, Corine, I truly am. I don't know what is wrong with me.

It was like he was a completely different person, Well, you will tell me if something is wrong right?

Kissing me uncontrollably he said: Yes, I promise you that I will.

Okay, thank you.

We sat there a while longer. Dante and Star made their way outside. Alright guys, give us a hug we are leaving, Dante said.

Please be careful. Make sure that no one follows you to where ever you're going.

We will, Corine. Star and I promise you that. Dante said.

Alright.

Demetrius stood up and hugged them, Don't tell anybody where you are. Including us do you hear me?

It was kind of odd that he would say that but, maybe he just wanted to make sure that they were safe.

Yes, although I don't know why you wouldn't want to know, Star said confused.

Just trust me okay. Don't tell anybody at all.

Alright, Demetrius. Your mom and I will see you soon. We love you guys.

The four of us stood on the porch watching as they pulled out of the driveway. So what do we do now? I asked.

I'm going to lie down, are you coming Corine?

Jacob and Moreen looked at me with confusion. Shrugging at them as to suggest that I didn't know what was wrong, I followed him up the steps.

Looking at me he said: You're so beautiful.

He began to kiss me hard and seductively. Pushing me on the bed he climbed on top of me and started to lose control.

Pushing at him I asked: What are you doing Demetrius?

Something snapped in him, I'm so sorry Corine. I don't know what is getting into me. He teared up I would never do this to you.

It's okay. You're fine. I love you and I know that you wouldn't hurt me purposely.

Yeah, but I would never do this to you. Not against your will. All of the sudden he grabbed his neck, It hurts so bad Corine.

Let me see. Pulling the bandage from the area where he was attacked, I gasped, You need to come with me, now.

He followed me to the bathroom, What's wrong Corine? His wound was seeping black fluid and he had little tiny, hairline, half inch black veins moving away from it. Toward his normal veins. Corine, what's wrong? He yelled.

I'm sorry. Nothing, let me get this cleaned up for you.

I know there is something wrong. Now, what is it?

Not knowing how to explain it, I turned him toward the mirror, See for yourself.

What is it, Corine, why does it look like that?

I have no idea, but we need to keep this to ourselves do you hear me?

Yes, get it cleaned and bandaged back up quickly. Please.

I am, I'm trying.

The black fluid was so thick it was like scrubbing tar from skin. I finally got it all off and put a bandage over it, that was big enough to cover the black veins. I had a suspicion of what was going on, so I wanted to keep it quiet for now.

He turned around and hugged me so tight that I couldn't breath, Thank you so much. I love you, Corine.

I love you, Demetrius.

He pulled me back to the bedroom, sat on the bed and pulled me down with him. Curling up in the fetal position he asked: Can you hold me, Corine? At least until I go to sleep.

I didn't say a word, I climbed in behind him and wrapped my arms around him as tight as possible. Once he was asleep, I went downstairs to talk to Jacob and Moreen.

Hey, guys, I said.

Hey, is Demetrius okay? Jacob asked.

I'm not sure Jacob. I don't know what is wrong with him. It may just be the stress that he is under.

Are you sure, Corine? Because Demetrius never acts like this. Heck, the only time I even saw him angry is when he had to tie Jacob up.

Well, I'm not exactly sure, I just have to keep an eye on him. I'm gonna go back up and stay with him. I'll talk to you guys later.

Being able to hear their thoughts I heard Moreen, Jacob, there is something really wrong here. Demetrius and Corine are hiding something from us.

Why do you say that?

Because Demetrius has never acted like this since we knew him. And whatever it is Corine knows. I can tell by her body language.

Well, we will just have to keep an eye out.

I blocked them out and put all of my focus on Demetrius.

Climbing back in bed with him I fell asleep. Quickly having visions of the future. This time it was Demetrius.

I began to shake violently, with the future visions the convulsing was worse. He was walking toward me with an evil smile on his face. The closer he got to me the more threatened I felt. He looked at me and his eyes flashed from turquoise to orange.

I was shaking so violently my head hurt. I felt Demetrius grab me and heard him say: Corine snap out of it. I couldn't, I wanted to but I couldn't. The vision continued with Demetrius telling me to tie him up and not let him loose no matter what he did and no matter what he tried.

He also said this is why they want our baby. I couldn't figure out why he was talking to me. Why is this one different. He continued to say, I'm changing you can't tell my present self about this, I will try to run. You, Jacob, and Moreen are safe. I won't harm you. You teach me how to control it. You need to wake up now.

But how? And, how do I do this without telling your present self?

We need to get married as soon as possible. Wake up now my love.

I felt Demetrius slap my face, Come on, Corine, wake up.

Looking up at him I started to cry, I hope you know that I love you so much.

I do know that. What's wrong with you? And what did you see this time?

Nothing just more stuff about the felans taking the baby.

He picked me up, put me on the bed and covered me up. Climbing in behind me he held me tight. He woke me in the middle of the night, Corine, get up. It hurts. It hurts bad.

I jumped up right away, Hurry come with me. Taking him to the bathroom I cleaned his wound and gave him some pain medication.

He sat on the floor with his face in his hands, What is happening? He asked confused.

Don't worry you'll be okay. We need to get married as soon as possible.

What? You were just hesitant about it. What's different now?

I think that you're right. We should get married.

I didn't know what else to say to him. I hated lying to him, but I had no choice. I couldn't figure out for myself why it was important that we get married right away. I just knew that we had to.

When morning comes we can go apply for the license if that's okay with you. He said.

It's fine. Whatever you want Demetrius. Let's head back to bed so you can get some rest.

Pulling him to his feet, I had to help him back to bed. I covered him and curled in next to him.

Don't do that Corine.

Don't do what, Demetrius?

He got irritated and said rudely, You know exactly what I'm talking about.

No, I truly don't.

He reached over and grabbed me lightly by the throat and began to kiss me savagely. Trying to move away from him was a struggle, I tried to fade but I couldn't.

Demetrius, stop, I yelled.

Stop what? You don't want me anymore?

He was still holding my throat, I do, I do want you. You have no idea how bad. We just have to wait and you know why.

Then it was like something clicked in him, I'm so sorry, Corine. I would never hurt you. What is going on here?

I'm not sure, but whatever it is you're able to fight it. You need to keep fighting it.
