About this ebook
A psychology college student falls in love with the guy whose car had hit hers. The two were caught in a shouting match in the middle of the street. A few days later, they were together again, this time on a date. Their accidental meeting led the two into a relationship that lasted for more than twenty years, and yet after all those years, Jodi has always turned down Todd’s invitation to get married. Unfortunately, no matter how many times Todd tried to convince her, he still failed. Jodi started to regret her decision when the unexpected happened to their relationship. The pattern that she has learned to rely on has been broken, and there is no going back for them.

Introducing The Silent Wife
The Silent Wife revolves heavily around different concepts of psychology and mentions the different forefathers of psychology quite often. Even Jodi's dog was named after a famous psychologist—Freud. There were parts of the book where Jodi recalls being under a series of psychotherapy sessions, which were written differently than the rest of the book. Most of the concepts in psychology used in the book were elaborated well and fit very well into the storytelling.
However, for all its references in psychology, the real core of the story revolves around fear. Jodi feared becoming like her mother, which is why she kept rejecting Todd's marriage proposal. On the other hand, Todd feared losing his value as part of the male species. This gave him an intense need to repeatedly cheat and to want to have a progeny. His fear of Natashaーhis mistressーleaving him made him a slave to her every whim. Natasha pressured Todd into leaving Jodi as soon as possible for fear that he might return to Jodi any time. Consequently, Dean, Natasha's father and Todd’s friend, feared for his daughter's future leading him to do what he did toward the book’s conclusion. The story revolved around fear that manifested in different forms for the main and supporting characters. Fear is the central theme of the story all the way to the self-revelation of Jodi in the end.
The story started by painting a picture of Jodi and Todd; the brief scene of how blissful and perfect their life was and how Jodi devoted her full attention to Todd's needs. The story shows numerous flashbacks of Todd's and Jodi's lives in the past, which were mostly when they were still wildly in love with each other and how they realized that they couldn't live without each other. The story also gave a glimpse of Todd's life at work, his
