CHAPTER 1

A STORM IS COMING

Hey, can you pass me the wrench? Eddie asked. My best friend, Eddie Stein, was busy rewiring Junior, a personal robot he built all by himself.

You see, my best friend is a genius, and making things is his idea of a perfect Saturday morning.

No problem! I said. Except I think… the wrench is gone.

What do you mean it’s gone? he asked with a raised brow.

I knew exactly what he was thinking: Did my powers have something to do with it?

Now, I have to admit, usually, the answer would be yes.

As a superhero, weird things happen to me all the time. And Eddie would know. He’s my only friend who knows my super-secret.

At Normal Elementary School I’m just Mia Macarooney, a regular eight-year-old kid. But after the bell rings, I quick-change into my supersuit and become Mia Mayhem!
